After the massive earthquake, severe storms have followed, impacting the people in Mandalay and Sagaing who were affected by the 7.7 magnitude quake. The military government is still in control and is not allowing NGOs to access the areas where help is most needed. Local volunteers lack sufficient equipment to search for those in need, and foreign international aid workers have very limited access, requiring permission from the military regime to enter some areas. The international community, especially neighboring countries, should pressure the military regime to allow emergency relief. The people of Myanmar are suffering from one disaster after another, including military rule, COVID-19, flooding, earthquakes, and now storms.
