Prem Tinsulanonda International School is a leading co-educational boarding and day International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Located on a lush 100-acre campus situated north of the ancient city of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Prem is the first IB World School in South East Asia that offers all four IB programs: the Primary Years Program (PYP), the Middle Years Program (MYP), the IB Diploma Program

(IB DP), and the IB Career-related Program (IBCP) in Art and Design or Business Sustainability and Leadership. The school was founded in 2001, and is dedicated to academic excellence, providing multiple pathways for our students. At Prem, students from all over the world receive an international education that provides them with the global competencies required for a future of increasing cross-cultural interdependence, rapid technological change and critical environmental challenges. The school is an Apple school and has extensive facilities to support the educational and co-curricular programmes. At the centre of the campus is the spacious library and extensive computer centre for student research. An auditorium and an additional amphitheatre each seat 600 and are used for theatre and music performances. Sports facilities provide a fully equipped gym, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, table tennis, dance studio, two short-game golf driving ranges football field and athletic fields. The school has developed a reputation as one of the finest boarding schools in South East Asia with a stimulating boarding curriculum which offers a range of activities throughout the week. Our boarding apartments offer flexible boarding options for students from Grade 3 – Grade 12. Currently there are students from more than thirty different countries studying IB programs at Prem. Our private boarding school includes an innovative boarding curriculum delivered by dedicated staff. A warm, homely feel fosters family care and values in a safe environment, for students of all levels of ability and all interests, who are interested in pursuing international study abroad.

We are thrilled to share that Mark Randall and Janeil Engelstad will be returning to Artist Residency Thailand at Prem in January 2027. 🎨

Mark is an Associate Professor at Parsons School of Design in New York, and Janeil is an interdisciplinary artist and cultural practitioner whose work connects creativity, community, and environment. In this video they share their thoughts on why nurturing creativity through education truly matters.

At Prem we believe creativity is not an optional extra. It is a fundamental human capacity. We cannot wait to have Mark and Janeil back with us.

Yesterday we welcomed back one of our most remarkable alumni.

Gabriel Castillo, Prem Class of 2024, is currently studying Computer Science at Cornell University, interning at Apple, and has just been accepted into Y Combinator, one of the world's most prestigious startup accelerators with an acceptance rate of just 1%.

Gabriel credited his IB Diploma Programme experience at Prem as a key part of what set him apart in his university applications. From Chiang Mai to Cornell to Apple to Y Combinator. We could not be more proud.

As we enter this new academic year, visits like this remind us exactly what is possible for every student who walks through our gates.

Every day brings something new. Whether it is weekend hikes in the mountains, kayaking, rock climbing, cooking nights, or simply hanging out with friends from around the world, life at Prem Boarding is full, fun, and meaningful.

And just like that, we are back. 💚

There is nothing quite like the first day of a new school year at Prem. Smiling faces, excited students, and proud parents were greeted warmly by our wonderful teachers and staff as they arrived on campus, along with a very special welcome from our resident tortoise! 🐢

Here is to an incredible 2026/27 year ahead. We are so happy to have everyone home!

Gold and Silver for the Prem Music Academy! 🥇🥈🥁

Huge congratulations to Kitson in Grade 5 and Entong in Grade 9 for their incredible performances at the 4th RSL Thailand Drum Competition. Kitson took home the Gold Medal and Entong earned the Silver, a fantastic result for both and a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for their craft.

We are so proud of you both. Keep drumming! 💚

The Prem Ice Hockey Club is back for 2026/27 with spaces available for students in Grades 2 to 6 to learn the fastest game on ice through fun, inclusive, and play based weekly practices.
