On 13 August 2026, the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Tanida Srisuwan, Dean, together with Asst. Prof. Dr.Chayarop Supanchart, Associate Dean for Finance and Resource Management; Asst. Prof. Dr.Wannakamon Panyarak, Associate Dean for Research and Innovation; and Asst. Prof. Dr.Phattaranant Mahasantipiya, Assistant Dean for Global Engagement and Interorganizational Collaboration, held discussions on academic collaboration with Assoc. Prof. YoungHa Song, Associate Dean of Planning and Coordination, Seoul National University School of Dentistry, in Seoul, South Korea. The meeting focused on exchanging perspectives and exploring opportunities for international exchange. 💜

During the meeting, the two institutions exchanged information on their respective operations, educational support systems, dental research, and potential forms of future collaboration. The Dent CMU executive team also had the opportunity to exchange knowledge regarding the operations of the Special Needs Dental Clinic at Seoul National University Dental Hospital (SNUDH).

This meeting provided another valuable opportunity to strengthen ties with a leading international dental institution and to promote the exchange of knowledge and ideas that can contribute to the further development of education, research, and international collaboration at the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University.

On August 12, 2026, the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tanida Srisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Chayarop Supanchart, Vice Dean for Finance and Resource Management; Asst. Prof. Dr. Wannakamon Panyarak, Vice Dean for Research and Innovation; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phattaranant Mahasantipiya, Assistant Dean for Global Engagement and Interorganizational Collaboration, attended the signing ceremony of an Agreement of Cooperation with Prof. Dr. Kim Seong S*k, Dean, and the executive team of Pusan National University School of Dentistry in Busan, Republic of Korea. The agreement aims to promote and further strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.

The cooperation encompasses a wide range of academic activities, including the promotion of teaching and research, exchanges of faculty members, staff, and students, joint academic activities, as well as the advancement of collaborative research and continuing education. It also provides opportunities for both institutions to exchange knowledge and experiences, thereby supporting the mutual advancement of dental education and research.

This Agreement of Cooperation marks another important milestone in strengthening the international collaboration network of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University. It also lays a solid foundation for the continued development of academic activities, exchanges, and research collaboration between the two institutions in the future.

Prof. Dr. Phattaranant Mahasantipiya, Assistant Dean for Global Engagement and Interorganizational Collaboration; Asst. Prof. Dr. Kittipit Klanliang, Assistant Executive for Corporate Communications; and Dr. Penpitcha Wanachantararak, held discussions on potential academic collaboration with Prof. Choi Eun Ha, Director of the Plasma Bioscience Research Center (PBRC), at Kwangwoon University, Republic of Korea.

The meeting was also attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pradung Suanpoot from Maejo University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wassanai Wattanutchariya from the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University. The participants exchanged knowledge and experiences and discussed opportunities to further advance research and innovation through collaboration among researchers from various institutions.

During the visit, the CMU delegation also learned about the production process of plasma-activated water and observed laboratory operations at PBRC. The participants exchanged perspectives on research processes and technology development, gaining a deeper understanding of the potential of plasma technology and exploring ways to further apply and extend this knowledge within their respective fields of research. The visit also provided an important opportunity to strengthen and expand research networks among researchers from diverse disciplines and institutions.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged information on their respective institutions’ operations, teaching and learning facilities and resources, dental research, and potential areas and formats for future academic collaboration. The discussions also explored opportunities for establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Faculties of Dentistry of Chiang Mai University and Yonsei University in the future.

🎉On August 10, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Tanida Srisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, together with the Faculty’s executive team, visited Meta Biomed in the Republic of Korea to engage in discussions on potential areas of collaboration.

During the visit, the delegation toured the company’s Research and Development (R&D) facilities and gained insights into its research and innovation activities.

During the meeting, the Faculty’s executive team presented selected research projects and areas of academic interest from the Faculty and exchanged views with Meta Biomed on potential approaches to developing collaborative innovations. The discussion provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and perspectives in research, innovation, and the advancement of dental science and technology at the international level.

Meta Biomed is a Korean company specializing in medical materials and devices, particularly dental products and materials. The company develops and distributes a wide range of products to countries around the world, with a strong emphasis on research and development of medical materials and devices with biocompatible properties.💜

Global Engage, Local Impact: Expanding Learning Horizons and Inspiring Global Citizens!
The Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), organized the pilot project “Global Engage, Local Impact” on August 2–3, 2026, at the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University. The project brought together more than 85 participants, including lecturers and dental students from both institutions, as well as upper secondary school students from schools in and outside Chiang Mai City District.
✨ Led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Phattaranant Mahasantipiya, Assistant Dean for Global Engagement and Interorganizational Collaboration, the project aimed to create an international learning environment that fosters English language skills, intercultural communication, teamwork, creativity, and Design Thinking. It also sought to inspire students to pursue opportunities in health sciences and higher education, while promoting the development of Global Citizenship.
📚 The activities included special lectures delivered by faculty members from both institutions, educational visits to dental clinics, research centers, the Dental Science Museum, and the library, as well as collaborative group activities. These activities provided opportunities for dental students and high school students to exchange knowledge and experiences, engage in cross-cultural learning, and work together to analyze community challenges and develop potential solutions.
🤝 This pilot project represents another important step in strengthening international educational collaboration and building a global network of academic partnerships. It also provides young participants with valuable experiences and achievements that can contribute to their portfolios, while encouraging them to apply the skills and knowledge gained to create positive impacts for their communities and society.

On 21 July 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Tanida Srisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, together with the Faculty's executive team, warmly welcomed Professor Deng Xuliang, Dean of the School of Stomatology, Peking University, People's Republic of China, and his delegation on the occasion of their visit to Chiang Mai University for the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Renewal Signing Ceremony between the two institutions. Following the signing ceremony, the two institutions held an academic and research meeting to exchange knowledge, share institutional perspectives, and discuss future directions for collaboration. During the meeting, Assistant Professor Dr. Phattaranant Mahasantipiya, Assistant Dean for Global Engagement and Interorganizational Collaboration, presented an overview of the Faculty's international partnerships and facilitated discussions on future collaborative activities between the two institutions.
The renewal of this partnership reflects the shared commitment of the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, and the School of Stomatology, Peking University, to strengthening international academic collaboration. Through sustained cooperation in education, research, and innovation in dentistry, both institutions aim to create meaningful opportunities for faculty members and students while contributing to the advancement of global oral health and dental sciences for years to come.

Faculty of Dentistry, CMU Welcomes Malaysian Dental Students for a Clinical and Academic Study Visit
💠 The Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, welcomed Mr. Doshen Young and Mr. Muhammad Fahim Bin Muhd Gaddafi, fourth-year undergraduate dental students from International Medical University, Malaysia, who participated in a short-term dental study visit from 6–10 July 2026.
On this occasion, Asst. Prof. Phattaranant Mahasantipiya, Assistant Dean for Global Engagement and Interorganizational Collaboration, together with faculty members and representatives from relevant departments and units, warmly welcomed the students. The visit also provided an opportunity to exchange information on dental education, clinical training, and potential avenues for further academic collaboration between the two institutions. 🤝
This activity served as an important opportunity to promote the international exchange of knowledge and professional experience in dentistry, while strengthening sustainable academic networks and collaboration between the Faculty of Dentistry, Chiang Mai University, and international educational institutions.
