Final meeting of LMI LUSES 2016 16/06/2016

The final meeting of the LMI LUSES was organized in Kasetsart University from June 8th - 9 th, 2016. This meeting gathered more than 70 scientists from Thailand, France, Laos and Vietnam.
The objective of this meeting was (i) to make a final statement of all the scientific projects and capacity building initiatives (link to fact sheet)) such as the LUSES-LDD international platform of biology and the SEALNET network (South East Asia Laboratory Network) (ii) to establish the main guidelines of the future project LUSES 2.

During the meeting, all the Asian scientists underlines that the LMI LUSES project was found fruitful with an overall very positive appreciation of all the partners’ institutions

Microresp Training 2016 09/03/2016

From 23rd to 25th February 2016, a training course on «Characterization of the physiological profiles of the
soil microbial community» was organized by the LMI LUSES and Land Development Department (LDD) at
the Division of Soil biotechnology of LDD in Thailand.

The training last 3 days, the first day was devoted to the theoretical aspect of techniques for assessing the
soil activities, the two others days was devoted to measurements and analyses of the data produced.

Les sols pour la sécurité alimentaire et le climat 01/12/2015

Les activités humaines émettent d'énormes quantité de dioxyde de carbone (CO2) dans l'atmosphère, ce qui renforce l'effet de serre et accélère le changement climatique. Les sols mondiaux contiennent 2 à 3 fois plus de carbone que l'atmosphère. Augmenter ce stock de carbone de 4 pour 1000 (0.4%) par an dans les 30-40 premiers centimètres du sol, permettrait de stopper l'augmentation de la quantité de CO2 dans l'atmosphère.

C'est ce que propose l'initiative 4 pour 1000, les sols pour la sécurité alimentaire et le climats
