Measles is highly contagious, and the best method of prevention is vaccination. Live particles of the measles virus can live in the air long after an infected person leaves the room, meaning anyone in crowded spaces can come in contact with the virus.
Ask your pediatrician if you have any questions about the MMR vaccine or measles.

Measles has resurged in recent years, even in high-income countries that once eliminated it, because immunization rates have dropped below the 95% threshold.
At least 95% coverage with two measles vaccine doses is required to stop transmission and protect communities from outbreaks.
