Every year I reflect on my 5 biggest challenges from the year and ask myself what lessons arose. It’s always the hardest moments that bring light. Along with this years challenges came the following realisations, ones that I hope to keep close with me for the year to come 🌟 Happy New Year to all 🍾

Our first holiday spent in our very first home🌲🎿
As a classic Third Culture Kid who has no idea what to answer when asked “where are you from”, who’s lived in 8 countries on 3 continents, has 3 citizenships and 2 native languages, I didn’t actually realise how much I needed this. It‘s not just buying property nor just an investment, it is deciding, at 28, to plant roots and start building a home, a place to be “from”.
It’s even more significant to do this with my other half, to build *our* roots and *our* home, one which we will keep for years to come, where we can come back to whenever we want. A place that will feel familiar and comforting when the craziness of Bangkok gets to us. A place for us to start creating the future we’ve imagined for ourselves, one that allows us to balance adventure and stability.
I was so looking forward to spending our first holiday in our first home together, but it was even more special, even more meaningful and even more homey that I could have imagined.
So grateful for this life that allows us to live such a world of contrasts 🌃🏔️

A few nuggets of wisdom that some of my closest have shared with me recently that inspired me 💭
“Bringing more fun into your life doesn’t have to always be an extravagant trip, it’s about taking day-to-day life with more lightness”
“Life can seem serious when you’re facing what’s right in front of you but zooming out allows you to have a bit more perspective”
“Things can change so fast and all of a sudden what you have now is gone. Don’t let what you have now pass you by.”
“You don’t have to make everyone’s problems your problems. Nor does every small thing need to be a big thing.”
The running theme is one that I have been pondering as the year comes to a close; one of lightness, « lâcher prise » , releasing seriousness and allowing life to be playful.

6 turns around the sun with you and what a journey it’s been 🌞
Here’s a little trip down memory lane to some of our milestones over the past 6 years together.
2. Year 1 / our first trip together to the French alps / while in the cereal isle I realised “wait a second… I think this is really becoming something special”
3. Year 1 / our first holiday together to the Amalfi Coast, still in our minds today as one of our favourite trips
4. Year 2 / our first race together; Marathon of Florence. It was a nightmare but you never left my side and we finished the race hand-in-hand
5. Year 2 / our first new country together; Morocco (and the first time you had to hold my hair while I was sick with food poisoning)
6. Year 3 / after 2.5 years of long distance, finally we had a place with both our names on the mailbox in Berlin, and we really made it home 🪴
7. Year 3 / you joined us for our yearly sailing trip and really became part of the family ❤️
8. Year 4 / our first cross-continental move, we moved across the world together and made Thailand our new home
9. Year 5 / closing off our first year in Thailand by spending our first Christmas and New Years together. We welcomed 2022 on a live-aboard dive boat somewhere in the Andaman Sea
10. Year 6 / a year of incredible adventures and travel. New countries, new experiences; we made memories that we will never forget.
Thank you for everything you are and being the best teammate I could have dreamed of.
I can’t wait to see what our 7th year brings… 😘💕❤️💞

Hiii 👋🏽 I thought it was about time for a re-introduction -
My name is Victoria and I am a Wellness Consultant and Life Coach, a bit more about me below 👇🏽
🌍 I grew up internationally as a TCK; my roots are French, I have 3 citizenships, I currently live in Thailand but where I feel most at home is Switzerland
🌿I started this IG account when I was in Uni, at the time it was called “Sailing Through Fitness” and it was a blog about my fitness journey, mostly logging my workouts and nutrition
🎓I studied business + hospitality management in university and on the side I was studying; yoga, personal training + nutrition
👩🏽💻I always knew I wanted to start my own business, so I launched myself right out of uni, and starting a wellness hospitality consulting business with fitness instructing on the side
🎤 I simultaneously launched an events business | .ch | creating a wellness community in Switzerland, which I’ve put aside for now, but I know it’s something I will come back to when the time is right
🫶🏽 When cvd hit, all my consulting projects were put on pause, so I pursued something I had always been dreaming of; Life Coaching. I did Life Coaching full-time for 3 years before just recently going back to a balance of Consulting + Coaching
🫧 My work is obviously a huge passion of mine, but below are a few things I love beyond my work…
x Travelling — partially why we live in Thailand ✈️🇻🇳🇰🇭🇮🇳
x Specialty Coffee ☕️ // with a side of a good Aussie-style brunch
x The sun — I am a human sunflower and chase the sun everywhere I go 🌻
x Challenging myself physically — currently training for my 1st triathlon
x Adventures — latest adventures were; a motorbike tour through Northern Vietnam and learning to KiteSurf
x Sailing — my family and I have been doing this yearly since I’m a child ⚓️
x My ❤️ — my bf Joe is my best friend and always by my side, we live together in Thailand
Anyone I’m meeting here for the first time, it’s lovely to meet you! I aim to share daily inspiration on this account, share what I’m learning, testing and discovering in the realm of health & wellbeing 🫶🏽

Just a few lessons learned in July 💭
What did you learn this past month?
19/05/2023
Things I’ve been pondering on my self-development journey recently…
x turning one year older this month felt very right. In a way in almost felt like a bit of relief. I feel more aligned as I get older
x I always thought I was very straight-to-the-point / direct / unafraid to speak my mind… yet lately as I’m surrounded by people much *more* like this than myself, I’ve realised how I need to grow some thicker skin and toughen up
x bringing lightness + cheerfulness into our every day is a very concrete choice and actions can be taken do so. My go-to’s are music + exercise
x you’re better off making a plan as though the thing you want won’t happen and putting together the best option accordingly. If it does, you’ll be happy to revise your plans

Day 4 of the Ha Giang Loop
On our last day we drove from Du Gia back to Ha Giang town to close off the loop and give back the motorbike.
This trip held the most breathtaking scenery and landscapes I’ve seen to date. How rejuvenating it was to spend 4 full days in absolute awe and wonder…
