The Federal Government has proposed the 2027 examination calendar. UTME starts on 15 March. NECO starts on 1 April. WASSCE starts on 11 May. These are proposed dates, so treat them as a planning guide until official timetables are released. One thing most people have missed: NECO ends on 14 May but WAEC starts on 11 May. If your child is sitting both, comment YES and we will send you a free preparation timeline on WhatsApp. Save this post. Share it with a parent who needs it.

One fifth less than last year. Do you divide, multiply, or panic? Here is the safe method.

Edexcel GCSE Maths | June 2025 | Paper 2 Higher | Question 5 (3 marks) Topic: reverse fractions (finding the original amount).

Exam tip: If this year is one fifth less than last year, work out what fraction of last year you actually have. Then find one part and build back up to the whole.

Nadia got this wrong. Can you spot exactly why? It is only 1 mark, so be precise.

Edexcel GCSE Maths | June 2025 | Paper 2 Higher | Question 4 (1 mark) Topic: loci, "at least" a distance from a point.

Exam tip: Read the words "at least" very carefully. They tell you whether to shade inside or outside the circle. One precise sentence earns the mark.

Sunesis Learning Solutions: careful reading wins marks. Send us a message to see how we teach it.

Each bag now covers less than expected. What does that do to your answer? One mark, one clear sentence.

Edexcel GCSE Maths | June 2025 | Paper 2 Higher | Question 3(b) (1 mark) Topic: interpreting a changed assumption.

Exam tip: Say what happens to the number of bags and give a reason. A bare number with no explanation may not earn the mark.

Sunesis Learning Solutions: good explanations win marks. Send us a message to learn how we teach them.

Buying the wrong number of bags is a real life mistake, and an exam mistake too. Watch the rounding.

Edexcel GCSE Maths | June 2025 | Paper 2 Higher | Question 3(a) (4 marks) Topic: area of a triangle, area of a circle, and shaded area.

Exam tip: Find the shaded area by subtracting the circle from the triangle. Divide by the area one bag covers. You cannot buy part of a bag, so round to a whole number that is big enough.

Today we pause to say thank you.

Thank you for trusting us with the most important thing you have: your child's education. Thank you for the patience, the encouragement and the belief you place in us every single day. Behind every lesson is a family that cares deeply, and we never take that for granted.

We wish you a table full of good food, a home full of laughter, and a day with the people you love most.

From all of us at Sunesis Learning Solutions, thank you. 💙🧡

Edexcel GCSE Maths | June 2025 | Paper 2 Higher | Question 2 (3 marks) Topic: sharing in a ratio.

Exam tip: Add the parts first, then find the value of one part. Finish by checking that your three amounts add back up to £6900.
