Over the past two days, our Model United Nations (MUN) students proudly represented Nkonyeni College at the Waterford Kamhlaba Model United Nations (WKMUN V) Conference.

Throughout the conference, our learners stepped into the role of diplomats, engaging in thoughtful debate, building consensus and working together to address global issues. They demonstrated confidence, resilience and leadership, while representing both their assigned countries and Nkonyeni College with excellence.

🙏💙 An Inspiring Visit from the Honourable Minister of Finance 💙🙏

This morning the Eswatini Minister of Finance Honourable Neal Rijkenberg delivered an inspiring and deeply personal address to learners, sharing his life story with remarkable humility and authenticity. Rather than focusing on his achievements and public office, he reflected on his upbringing in modest circumstances.

The Minister recounted how, as a young boy, he was constantly looking for opportunities to earn an income.

What made his message especially impactful was the central theme that underpinned his entire testimony. Speaking openly about his Christian faith, he encouraged learners to ensure that they first settle what he described as "the one thing that matters most"—their relationship with God.

His counsel was clear and heartfelt: before pursuing material things, he emphasised that when one's relationship with the Lord becomes the foundation of life, every other area can be built upon that secure foundation.

The Honourable Minister repeatedly encouraged learners to "keep the main thing the main thing" by loving the Lord wholeheartedly and pursuing a genuine relationship with Him. He explained that success, purpose, wisdom, and the ability to navigate life's challenges naturally flow from placing God first.

His testimony resonated strongly with the learners because it connected practical life experience with enduring spiritual principles. The authenticity with which he shared both his humble beginnings and his faith made his message both credible and relatable.

The address served as a powerful reminder that true success is measured not merely by financial achievement or professional status, but by a life anchored in godly character, faithful stewardship, and a close relationship with God. Learners left encouraged to pursue excellence in their studies and future careers while ensuring that their spiritual lives remain their highest priority.

🙏💙 A Powerful Message on the Power of Choice 💙🙏

This morning, our learners were encouraged by Pastor Berven Chimanikire from Potter's Wheel, who shared a thought-provoking message based on Matthew 25:14–19. His message centred on one powerful truth: every day, we are entrusted with the gift of choice.

While we do not choose where we are born or the circumstances, we begin life with, we do choose our attitude, our actions and how we respond to the opportunities God places before us.

Drawing from the Parable of the Talents, Pastor Berven reminded our learners that God has entrusted each of us with unique gifts, abilities and opportunities. Like the servants in the parable, we are called to be faithful stewards of what we have been given.

One of the most powerful lessons shared was that our attitude is a choice. Our attitude towards our education, our teachers, our classmates, our challenges and even ourselves shapes the decisions we make each day.

As Philippians 4:8 reminds us, when we choose to focus on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable, we guard our minds and cultivate an attitude that leads to wise decisions and positive actions.

The challenge to our learners was simple yet profound:
