Good morning Parents,

Today is the 1st day of your children at Emlalatini Development Centre (EDC) and they are warmly welcome. EDC staff is ready to assist them.

Today, they are going to meet their lecturers and they are going to be introduced to Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) for teaching and learning and the way EDC conduct teaching and learning.

Lessons start at 8:30 am in the Lecture Theatre. They are all expected to assemble there. At some point, they will be required to meet and register with their subject lecturers in their offices.

I will repost the Timetable for the week. Remember that, at EDC your children learn more at home and twice at EDC, Tuesday and Thursday.

You are expected to support your child with buying data bundles to connect to the Internet. Check if your child is learning. Find out if your child is facing difficulties and ask for help in this group. Ensure that you child attends both face-to-face lessons at EDC and online lessons. Also ensure that your children learn to learn on their own unsupervised. They will need this skill when they go to university.

They will be connected to the Internet at EDC. They should bring their smartphone or laptop or Tab with them to class. They will need it for learning. Make sure they don't forget their chargers.

They will also be introduced to our EDC policies that they must read and understand. They are their Dos and Don'ts. 😊😊
