Official Condolence Statement from Elangeni High School

30 July 2025

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we inform the school community and the public of the tragic passing of our beloved student, Siphelele Dlamini (Form 4DX), in the early hours of Tuesday, 29 July 2025, following a vehicular accident on his way to school.

Siphelele was not just a student but a bright light in our school—a natural leader, a compassionate soul, and an inspiration to many. As the Chairperson of the School’s Charity Club, he embodied kindness and selflessness, always seeking ways to uplift others. His dedication to service left an indelible mark on our hearts.

On the soccer field, Siphelele was a force to be reckoned with—a skilled player and the anchor of our school’s soccer development. His passion, teamwork, and unwavering spirit motivated his peers and brought pride to Elangeni High School. Beyond sports, he was also an active member of the Sustainable Group, demonstrating his commitment to making a difference in both his school and community.

The loss of Siphelele has left a deep void in our school. Teachers and students alike are grappling with grief, as we remember his infectious smile, his leadership, and the positive impact he had on all who knew him.

During this difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences to the Dlamini family, friends, teammates, and all who were touched by Siphelele’s remarkable life. As a school, we will provide counseling and support to those in need.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may we honor his memory by continuing the legacy of kindness, excellence, and service that he championed.

"A great tree has fallen, but its roots remain in the hearts of those it sheltered."

Signed,

The administration, Academic and Non-Academic Staff, and Students of Elangeni High School

What a beautiful Green Day!

"Honoring the Spirit of Ubuntu: Mandela Day Orchard Project at Elangeni High School."

In celebration of Mandela Day, our school embraced the values of community, sustainability, and environmental stewardship through a special Orchard Project. Environmentalists, learners, and stakeholders from all sectors came together at Elangeni, uniting for a greener future.

The day was filled with impactful activities that strengthened our sustainability campaign, showcasing how environmental protection and development can go hand in hand. Guided by the Elangeni Eco Club and supported by the school administration, we witnessed the seamless integration of eco-conscious practices into our community’s growth.

This initiative not only honored Nelson Mandela’s legacy of service but also planted seeds—both literally and figuratively—for a more sustainable tomorrow.

Congratulations to Evelyn Baring High School for securing the wild card spot in the Open Soccer Boys Instacash Last 16. While we at Elangeni High School are disappointed not to have been selected, we fully acknowledge the hard work and dedication demonstrated by the qualifying school from the south.

This setback only fuels our determination to sharpen our skills and strengthen our campaign for the 2026 edition. We extend our gratitude to the tournament sponsors for their unwavering belief in the talent of the Swazi child.

As we move forward, our focus remains on continuous improvement —ensuring that success is earned through skill, perseverance, and the unyielding fighting spirit of Elangeni, as instilled by Khayoni and honed by Dlamini-Sibiya.

Though this was not our year, we are proud of our progress and remain steadfast in our commitment to represent the fierce spirit of the Schools of the Valley. We will return stronger, sharper, and more determined than ever.
