Class age groupings are generally based on the age of the child at the beginning of the school year (usually early September). Each class has a maximum of 20 students, under the supervision of at least two adults (one classroom teacher and one assistant teacher). The Director and the Classroom teacher are available as needed. All supervisors, teachers, and assistant teachers are trained in early c
hildhood education methods and practices. In addition, the school has a policy of continuous professional development, requiring teaching staff to always stay up-to-date on new information in this specialized field of education. Students at first step kindergarten experience a developmentally appropriate program which includes instruction in both Arabic and English .our mission is to encourage students to succeed. Our primary goals are to help your child:
- develop a positive self–concept and attitude towards learning
- develop relationships of trust with adults and other children
- show curiosity about the things around them
- use both Arabic and English to communicate effectively
- think, reason, and solve problems at an appropriate level
- understand relationships among objects and events
- use technology to gain skills and information
- increase control of their muscles (small and large)
- learn about their culture and their society. What to wear
First step requires you to purchase an uniform for your child. Your child is required to wear a uniform to school. Our uniform is fashionably designed for comfort. Shoes should be sturdy and should stay on your child’s feet when she/he runs. Roller blade shoes are not allowed in school. Your child will be asked to leave the school if s/he fails to wear the uniform to school. Change of clothes
Each student should bring one complete change of clothes that will be left at school in case of need.
