Our Vice Chancellor Daniel Ohide Pays Courtesy Visit to the Executive Chief of Mundu Boma~Mr.Pascal Manase.

In a warm and encouraging engagement that reflected the strong bond between the University and the community it serves, together with some members of ECU'S leadership, the V.C paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chief of Mundu Boma, Mr. Pascal Manase at the Chief’s home in Mundu Boma, approximately 20 miles along the Maridi Road, Tore Payam, Yei River County.

The Chief expressed profound excitement and appreciation for the visit, describing the presence of ECU’s leadership as a sign of hope, partnership, and renewed commitment to the development of the Mundu community and South Sudan at large.

In a powerful expression of resilience and commitment, Chief Pascal Manase shared that he chose not to seek refuge in neighboring countries because of his determination to remain and contribute to an environment where ECU can stand, grow, and continue fulfilling its purpose within the Mundu community and the nation at large. His words reflected a deep sense of ownership and responsibility toward an institution he believes has an important role to play in education, transformation, and community development.

The Chief further expressed his faith and prayers for the continued protection of the University, declaring his belief that no weapon formed against the institution shall prosper. His message was both a prayer and a call for courage, reminding the University leadership that meaningful transformation often requires faith, perseverance, and steadfast commitment.

He encouraged the Vice Chancellor and the entire ECU leadership not to give up on the good work they are doing, affirming that God is using their service to touch lives, educate communities, develop future leaders, and contribute to the rebuilding of South Sudan.

The visit concluded with a renewed sense of partnership and shared responsibility strengthening the conviction that when a university and its community stand together, education becomes more than learning; it becomes a force for transformation, hope, and nation-building.

Vice Chancellor Daniel Ohide Leads ECU Leadership Visit to Goli Coffee Farm located approximately 20 miles along the Maridi Road, Tore payam Yei river county.

Walking through the coffee farm, the Vice Chancellor and the delegation observed the development of the plantation and reflected on the opportunities it presents for the university and its students. The farm stands as a practical learning environment where academic knowledge can be connected to real-world production, innovation, enterprise, and sustainable agriculture.

‎For ECU, coffee represents more than an agricultural commodity. It represents possibility the possibility of transforming land into productive enterprise, classrooms into centres of innovation, and students into graduates equipped not only with academic qualifications but also with practical skills and a vision for creating impact within society.

‎The presence of the Student Dean Uwär Ukongo Ungang and Guild Cabinet President Cholnow Cingoth and his leadership added an important dimension to the visit. Their participation demonstrated the value ECU places on student leadership and involvement in institutional development. By bringing student representatives into spaces where university initiatives are being developed and implemented, ECU continues to encourage a culture in which students see themselves not merely as beneficiaries of education, but as active participants in shaping the future of the institution and the wider society.

‎The Goli Coffee Farm therefore provides an important platform for students to learn beyond the traditional classroom. Through practical engagement in agriculture, students can gain exposure to production, agribusiness, environmental stewardship, teamwork, leadership, and entrepreneurship competencies that are increasingly important in preparing young people for a changing world.

At - ECU the future is not merely being discussed it is being cultivated.

My journey toward becoming a professional teacher has been a journey of discovery, transformation, and purpose.

When I joined Emmanuel Christian University, I did not have a full understanding of my professional calling or where my academic journey would lead me. I entered with a desire to learn, but with limited knowledge of the profession I would eventually embrace.

Through my academic journey, Emmanuel Christian University became an important foundation for my academic transformation, personal growth, and professional development. I gained knowledge, confidence, discipline, and a new perspective on the purpose of education.

Today, I understand that teaching is more than simply a career. Teaching is a calling, a responsibility, and an opportunity to transform lives. My education has inspired me to develop a mindset that looks beyond personal success toward community transformation and development.

As a professional teacher, I want to influence the lives of the children who sit before me every day. My responsibility is not only to develop their academic abilities, but also to nurture their moral character, values, attitudes, discipline, confidence, and sense of responsibility.

I believe that every child has potential and that teachers have the power to help shape that potential. The children I teach today are the future leaders, professionals, parents, and community builders of tomorrow. Therefore, I want my teaching to leave a positive and lasting impact on their lives and on my community.

I am grateful to Emmanuel Christian University for contributing to the foundation of who I am becoming. My education is my foundation, teaching is my calling, transformation is my mission, and the next generation is my responsibility. I teach not merely to inform minds, but to transform lives.

ECU ANNIVERSARY TESTIMONY~

Theme: “Thoughts Are Things”

During the 2nd anniversary celebration of Emmanuel Christian University (ECU), one of the continuing students Bosco Bush shared a testimony reflecting on the university’s journey and its impact on his life.

He described the theme, “Thoughts Are Things,” as a powerful reminder that every great achievement begins with a thought, a vision, or a dream. According to him, what is now Emmanuel Christian University was once simply an idea and a prayer in the hearts of people who believed that education, faith, and service could transform lives.

Reflecting on ECU’s journey from Emmanuel Christian Training Center in 2001, to Emmanuel Christian College, and eventually to a fully recognized university, the student said the institution’s growth is a testimony of perseverance, faith, and God’s guidance.

He further testified that ECU has become more than a place of academic learning. To him, it is a community that develops students spiritually, intellectually, and morally, preparing them to become responsible leaders who can contribute meaningfully to the development of South Sudan.

Speaking personally, he recalled joining ECU on February 10, 2025. He said that although he was excited to begin his studies, he also had uncertainties about the challenges ahead. However, his experience at ECU gradually strengthened his confidence, faith, and determination. He described the university as an important stepping stone toward achieving his aspirations and fulfilling his God-given purpose.

He encouraged secondary school graduates and other young people to consider ECU as a place where they can develop their talents, pursue meaningful careers, and turn their aspirations into reality. He emphasized that a dream becomes powerful when it is accompanied by faith, commitment, discipline, and action.

Concluding his testimony, he expressed gratitude to the founders, administrators, lecturers, staff, students, and everyone who has contributed to the growth of Emmanuel Christian University. He prayed that ECU would continue to be a center of excellence, faith, wisdom, and leadership for generations to come.

“What began as a thought has become a reality. What was once a vision now stands before us. May ECU continue to transform people, shape leaders, and glorify God.”
