📖 Story: The Whispering Dictionary
In the heart of Juba stood an old library that many had forgotten.
Dust covered its shelves, and cobwebs filled its corners — but one book remained untouched by time: a large, golden dictionary.
One afternoon, a curious boy named Michael entered the library, searching for a quiet place to study. As he opened the golden book, he heard a soft voice whisper,
“Use me well, and I’ll give you the world.”
Startled, Michael looked around — no one was there.
The next day, he returned. Each time he opened the book and read a new word, the world around him changed — people began listening to him, his teachers praised him, and he grew more confident.
But soon, pride took over. Michael stopped helping his friends and laughed at those who couldn’t speak English well.
One morning, when he opened the dictionary again, the pages were blank. The whisper came once more:
“Words are powerful — but useless in the mouth of pride.”
Michael closed the book and wept. From that day, he used his words not to show off, but to teach others — and the pages came back, one by one.
