The first administrative meeting of the National Executive Committee of SSMSA was successfully convened last week.

Executive members from Juba University Medical Students' Association (JUMSA) and Upper Nile University Medical Students' Association (UNUMSA) headed by their respective chairpersons commended the SSMSA Executive Board for the great initiative and promised to fully participate in the activities organized at the national level.

The National Executive Committee comprising of SSMSA Executive Board and Executive Members from University-based Medical Students' Associations is one of the most strategic committees that guides the SSMSA action framework in how to successfully deliver services to medical students within South Sudan.

The university-based medical students' associations in the three public universities in South Sudan have been instrumental in the inception of the South Sudan Medical Students' Association (SSMSA).

Yesterday, our pioneering officials paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected Juba University Medical Students' Association (JUMSA) Leadership for the academic year 2024 - 2025 to congratulate them on winning the trust of medical students in the University of Juba.

The SSMSA officials also elaborated on the mission, vision, and objectives of the association and on its role as the official and national representative body of all medical students in South Sudan, including those of South Sudanese descent studying outside the country. Further discussions were on areas of partnership and collaboration on future events and activities that are intended for students' professional development.

SSMSA remains steadfast in its commitment to inspiring and empowering medical students to be skilled clinicians, innovative researchers, and effective public health advocates for a better and healthier South Sudan.
