โ™ฆ๏ธ GOOD NEWS: Starford International University alongside 2 other private universities added to IGAD Membership

JUBA - The Board of IGAD Universities has added three private universities to its membership, increasing the total number of member institutions from eight to eleven.

The newly admitted universities are Starford University of South Sudan, the University of Africa in Sudan, and SIMAD University of Somalia. The institutions were selected through a ballot during a recent board meeting held in Juba.

The IGAD Head of Mission to South Sudan, Victoria Anib Majur, said only accredited universities qualify for membership in the forum.

She said the decision to include private universities was driven by the need for inclusivity, noting that accredited institutions interested in joining must formally apply to IGAD.

Majur explained that while the forum is open to accredited universities, the board remains a smaller body made up of the original eight founding universities and the three newly admitted members.

The Board of IGAD Universities contributes to the development of regional policies, strategies and frameworks in education, science and technology.

It was in March 2022 that my beloved wife (Nyamuch Wal Chamdak) and I, as newlyweds, joined Starford International University to pursue our degrees in different fields. I enrolled in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, studying for a Bachelorโ€™s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, while my wife joined the Faculty of Management Sciences to pursue her Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources and Management.

Our journey was not easy. We faced many challenges and obstacles, but we remained determined to achieve our goals. Despite the hardships, we rose above all odds and endured every difficulty that came our way.

In 2023, my wife gave birth to our beautiful daughter. She encouraged me to continue my studies while she stayed home to take care of the baby. However, I refused, because I believed we were in this journey together.
Since our program was conducted on weekends, we agreed to support each other by sharing responsibilities. She attended classes on Saturdays while I stayed home with our daughter, and I attended on Sundays while she cared for the baby. Through teamwork and commitment, we never missed a single test or assignment.

As a husband who strongly believes in the power and capability of women through education, I remained committed to supporting my wife in achieving her dreams. It was important to me that she accomplished all her goals, just as I pursued mine.

From the beginning, we faced many difficulties, but in the end, we triumphed. Together, we proudly graduated on 21st March 2026.

My wife is a strong woman, full of commitment and consistency. She is ambitious and determined to achieve even greater things in life. She is a woman who deserves the very best for her endurance, perseverance, and patience.

Together, we are committed to striving for excellence and success, so that we can contribute positively to our country.

We are proud alumni of Starford International University, and we will always make our university proud ๐Ÿ‘
