THANK YOU THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY (OUR BELOVED STUDENTS)

17TH JANUARY, 2021.

Dear GA,

On behalf of the Executives under Machar Aru Mou, I wanted to say thank you and bravo for turning up today for our GAM.

Secondly, we are also happy for your excellent job done by successfully amending/ passing the Five proposed Articles on our Constitution.


THE ARTICLES AMENDED WERE AS FOLLOWS:-

FIRST AMENDED ARTICLE

Changing the Association name from Greater Aweil Students'Association at University of Juba GASA_UOJ) to AWEIL STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION AT UNIVERSITY OF JUBA (ASA_UOJ).

The symbols were also changed. Remember that before we were still three states we were using Crane, Giraffe and Buffalo, Rice,candle, Book and pen.

Currently, we will be using the following in the new Logo to be design:-

CRANE,RICE, CANDLE ,BOOK AND PEN.

SECOND AMENDED ARTICLE-

Changing of Graduation Ceremony which is annually conducted before the University Graduation. It was realised that, it was wrong to do that and it has to be change to FAREWELL/ HONORING CEREMONY FOR THE GRADUANDS.

THIRD AMENDED ARTICLE :-

Reduction of time Graduands should stay in the hostels that are paid by the Association. The GA voted to maintain the six (6) months which was also passed Successfully.

FOURTH AMENDED ARTICLE:-

Was on Registration fee for the first year students and annually subscription fee for the senior Students which was also passed Successfully.

FIVE AMENDED ARTICLE:-

Was the implementation of Penalities to both General Assembly and Executive members. It was agreed that, any misconducts such as:-

Using Association name, Logo or heading paper to go and request for any financial assistances, defamations to both General Assembly members and Executives (whether online or anywhere), dodging Association duties obligations by both GA or Executives, all these will acounts for something such as:-

Verbal warning, first written warning, 2nd 3rd and finally, suspension of the membship of that person if is a member of GA. If it's one of the Executives then after those series of warning then the general Assembly Meeting will be called to look into the matter of that person.

Finally,

There were Other businesses/suggestions from some members of the GA, which proposed things like:-

Some members were suggesting of recontasting of all other Executive members exception of Chairman,Secretary General and Finance Secretary

Some suggested that some slight changes should be made on the article of electoral Commission plus many minor other things. ALL THOSE WHERE LEFT PENDING to be deal with in the future if time and all what it takes to convene the gathering are in place.

Notes that all changes made today will be effective within a week from the day of the Amendment.

LAST REMINDER TO ALL OUR STUDENTS!

16TH JANUARY, 2021

Dear Students,

On behalf of the Information Desk and that of the entire leadership under able Chairman Mr. Machar Aru Mou, would like to request you for early punctuality. To be honest with you, there will be "No African time" as some people may think so. Our agreement with the management of the Hall is from exactly 10:00 AM to 17:00 PM, Juba time. So please let's do ourselves favor. Remember that,anytime beyond the stipulated arrival time,will let some people be deny access to the Meeting main hall. All in all, I'm appealing to you to turn up all so that we meet the required quorum of 2/3 Majority.

Again, remember that,the entertainment is 💯% guaranteed by the best artists we all know. The other "Good News" is that, some Artists will be launching some new albums/ songs tomorrow during that important gathering.

Not only that, but almost the Comedians lead by Majuetdit Crews will be acting live there.

The media Coverage is also at it best. No doubt about that.

The number National Broadcaster known as SSBC will be along side Juba Monitor daily Newspapers, Dawn , Al- Watan Newspapers, AGAMLONG and so forth. Our State FMs Stations such as Akol Yam 91 FM and Weer Bei 99.9 FM, will be in close contact with our Secretary for Information.

NB: There will be some interviews with all the mentioned media houses. So some students will be randomly selected with gender balance considered, to go and give their views on the matters pertaining the tomorrow's Meeting. So get prepared for that move. The Secretary concern will facilitates the whole process.

The People's Governor Hon. Tong Akeen Ngor,will be represented by our beloved State Coordinator who's non other than Daniel Deng Deng Lual.

All other Representatives mentioned in the previous post are confirmed to be present tomorrow.

THE BRIEF ON HOW THE TOMORROW PROGRAM WILL RUN.

We have Already Constitutional Amendment Committee comprising of the following Strong People.

1. Angelo Akoon Kur, the Secretary General and the team leader, and the main Presenter of tomorrow' s GAM.

2. Kuany Tong Chan, the Secretary for Information ( member)

3. Wilson Wieu Garang, the Secretary for Academic Affairs ( Member)

4. Bakhita Ajok Deng, the Secretary for Finance ( Member)

NB 2. Other Executive members will also be jumping in when necessary to do so.

Our Main MCs/ Moderators of tomorrow:s Function are:

1. MC. Young Doctor ( Kuany Tong Chan)
2. MC. Bakhita Ajok Deng

Majoongdit will possibly be joining there.

Tomorrow early at 7:00 AM the below Secretaries will be at the main gate.

1. Mr. Dut Nyibek Deng, the Deputy for Academic Affairs
And

2. Mr. Gabriel Dut Yak Aleu, the Deputy Secretary for Social Affairs will be at the the main entrance together with some of our organized forces such as National Police and other intelligence personnel to make thorough screening.

Further more, all the Precautionary measures for Coronavirus will be highly observed. Without face masks and all other items,then definitely there will be "NO ENTRANCE". The Team from South Sudan National Ministry of Health will be monitoring all the mechanisms.

AGAIN AND AGAIN,Without valid University Identification card and Association Certificate then someone will not be granted a chance to enter.

The MCs, the Main Presenter ( SG) plus the rest of the Executive will arrive at the venue at exactly 8:30 AM.

Our beloved Chairman plus other VIPs will walk in at exactly 10:00 AM.

The Committees such as;

- organizing Committee
- Protocol Committee
- Services Committee

and

other people will be making it there at 9:00 AM.

Last but not the least,the proposed"Articles" to be amended plus other items to be discuss will be table before the audiences minutes before the secession kickoff.

Also, other people with different productive ideas will be tackle after deliberation on the proposed Articles.

Lastly,and is so paramount to all of us,anything else than the expected peaceful and convenient social interactions will best be handle by the people concerned.

IMPORTANT UPDATES TO ALL OUR STUDENTS!


January 9,2021

Today,the Executive lead by able Chairman Mr. Machar Aru Mou,has convened the first cabinets meeting in 2021. The meeting dwelled much on preparatory phases of the upcoming General Assembly Meeting on 17/01/2021, at Millennium Hotel.Everything is now in place. The Security permit is already issued by the authority concerned.Approval from the National Ministry of Health is also granted on the condition that the precautionary measures for Covid-19 are followed strictly. Adherence to social distancing , wearing face masks, applying hand sentizers, proper hand washing before entering the main venue and so forth.....

So with all that,we do appeals to our beloved Students to help us to come along with their face masks and other relevant protective equipment, just to reduce the burden on us. Any Student without the mentioned requirements,will not be granted the access to the meeting venue.

Equally,we do also request our students not to forget their School identification cards. Students without University identification cards can alternatively use Certificate issued by our Association. Any Student without these two things mentioned above, is not eligible whatsoever to access the meeting hall to go and vote during the amendment( Not incorporation of some articles) of the Association's Supreme Law.

However,the first year students are kindly asked for the last time now to hurry/ speed up the process of their certificates. Our Deputy Secretary for Social affairs and Secretary for Academic Affairs are ready 24/7.

Note 1; The former members of this Association will only be there as honourable members. Their task will be observation on the proceeding of the whole process.

NB 2. Other Aweilians from other higher Learning Institutions who will love to attend, will only be given special seats/ place to sit in insulation without mixing themselves with our students from University of Juba. Their main work is just to come and witness the process and nothing beyond that.

Again, when it comes to voting or final endosement of an articles,it will be solely our students, not even boyfriends/girlfriends of our students from other Institutions will be allowed.

Dear Students,

On behalf of our leadership and my own behalf,wishes all of you the best of luck on your New year Celebration. It has been so difficult time but with God's mercy, we are able to reach this end. Thanks be to Almighty Allah for his protection from the start of the year to this far. Again, we will not forget the support from our people who stood with our students during the toughest time of covid-19 pandemic. Without your help,we would have not made it to the 31/12/2020. Congratulations for that. May God bless you and extended your ages in order for you to continue catering for our people in the anticipated happy New year 2021.

Dear beloved Students, brothers and sisters,as we are heading to the New Year, let's be mindful about our safety. I mean, let's celebrate responsibly with caution and be vigilant enough in all aspects. This is not the first and the last Celebration in our lives.more of these have been celebrated and more others still to come. let's show the highest level of alertness. Remember Juba City is flooded with V8's and all kind of automatic machines/ vehicles that are driven beyond human skills,so take good care of yourselves. Avoid accidents.

Again, don't involve yourselvess,in things that are risky to your academic journey or non academic issues.You are still young and still time to discover more pertaining all other issues will come not now. Time for everything.Time to study and a time to marry or to get marry or time to get engaged in alcoholic kind of drinks and so forth.

Before the last, Securitywise, protect yourself before you are protected by someone. This is clear and very important message for you. Don't joke with your life. Life is so precious that no one will dare lossing it simply like that.

On behalf of the leadership of the Association under Mr. Machar Aru Mou,and on my own,would like to register our happiness to all our people for the job well done during Christmas Celebration which took place yesterday at Jabarona hostel. It was well organized, Supervised and the most colourful that no single word is enough to describe it.

Firstly,our word of thanks goes the people's Gov. Hon. Tong Akeen Ngor, for fully sponsoring the costs of the celebration. This is not the only support or great thing our beloved governor has done to our students, there are a lots of things before of which many were not documented on the media but when time comes, then all our students and other people will get to know them during general report. He has done wonders and still doing that to all our people. This is kind of good job that everyone need to appreciate. May God always protect him and all the stakeholders who are so much committed to ensure that the lives of our vunerable future leaders (Students) and Community is catered for. Bravo beny Tongdit for everything and fantastic work you are doing across Mading Aweil. Our students and the entire people of Mading Aweil will always stand with you in any circumstances. We wish you well and may God bless you and your team abundantly. Students and everyone love you very much.
