The recent sign-out ceremony at the University of Juba deserves praise for Ambassador Malual Jr.
A current Marketing Manager at Ngawal Group For Computing CO. LTD and a student at the University of Juba, Ambassador Malual Jr. lived through a defining moment in life. Present at the sign-out ceremony at School of Community Studies and Rural Development at University of Juba today, he discovered a deep passion for computers and information technology (IT). As he delved deeper into studies, he understood that his real calling lay in the field of technology, and therefore, motivated him to explore its numerous avenues with a burning desire.
From studying Community Studies and Rural Development, Malual Jr. gained information regarding social dynamics, sustainable development, and community development. All these subjects were undoubtedly relevant and shed a lot of light on several rural communities' challenges. Nevertheless, during classes and discussions, his mind kept returning to computers.
The IT curiosity first took root in Malual Jr.'s formative years. He spent countless hours testing computers, researching computer hardware, and studying software programs such as Adobe Illustrator and other technology-related software packages in a self-taught manner. He developed an attraction towards technology's limitless capabilities to make a positive impact, streamline processes, and bridge gaps in rural communities. With each new fact about IT, a deeper realization grew in him that it could usher in a new era of development, not in urban communities alone but in rural communities too.
As Malual Jr. pursued his studies, his interests started to shift towards a new direction. He developed a deep passion for working with online sources, tutorials, and discussion forums relevant to information technology. He delved deep into programming, website development, and software development. Sustenance and joy derived through overcoming complex problems and creating new, effective solutions could not be beat.
The growing passion for information technology encouraged him to join a hackathon, working with fellow enthusiasts, such as IT expert Akol Mawien Athian Bul, to develop cutting-edge technological solutions. Such experiences strengthened him in his belief that technology holds the key to bringing about positive change, even in the most rural and underprivileged communities.
The dedication of Malual Jr. towards information technology did not go unnoticed by his peers and seniors. They noticed his aptitude for technology and urged him to follow his heart with renewed vigor. They saw that his talent and passion could be utilized to make a real impact, both in IT and in community development.
The years that followed strengthened Malual Jr.’s determination even more. He realized that a career in information technology would allow him to combine his passion for technology with a desire to make a meaningful social impact. He saw himself working in programs for rural communities, working towards utilizing the potential of information technology for positive development.
Despite the seeming unconventionality of choosing to switch from Community Studies and Rural Development to Information Technology, Malual Jr. had an inner knowing that such a move was actually beneficial for him. By taking a chance to follow his heart and actualize his dream in the technological field through hands-on training in computer studies, Malual Jr. positioned himself effectively for a future career in becoming a potential research proposal writer.
Therefore, in Malual Jr.’s case, the value of listening to one’s aspirations is evidently proven. By choosing to prioritize his preference for computers and information technology as a source of livelihood, Malual Jr. took a path that would enable him to combine his technical expertise with his desire to make a positive impact in rural communities. Driven by a determination and passion that defined his new path, Malual Jr. started an exciting journey, ready to face any challenge and opportunity that comes his way.
Amb. Malual Jr., a native of Nbgs-Aweil in Aweil East County, specifically Malual Baai Payam, is a descendant of the renowned Kuç Awuou, alias Kuç Marol Tong, of humble village Luangluil. Malual Jr. will become the first IT expert and Rural Developmentalist in the Lowland region.
