SCHOLARSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT DAFI Tertiary Education Scholarships

Windle International Kenya, in partnership with UNHCR, invites applications for suitably qualified refugee candidates who reside in Kenya for the DAFI 2023 Tertiary Education Scholarships

This scholarship programme is funded by the Federal Republic of Germany, administered by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and implemented by Windle International Kenya (WIK) and with the goal of supporting refugee youth to access post-secondary education. The scholarship covers tuition and fees associated with the academic course of the scholars.

1. Scholarship Academic Level of Study: Diploma and Degree.

2. Qualification: Every Applicant MUST:

a) Be a holder of valid refugee status (Have GoK Refugee ID or Waiting slip and Proof of Registra

b) Be 30 years of age and below at the time of application

c) Have original academic documents from a recognized academic institution d) Demonstrate financial need for education and strong contribution to community

e) Not be benefiting from any other education scholarship at the time of application f) Not on an immediate resettlement process.

Minimum KCSE (or equivalent) Academic Requirement: DEGREE courses: C+ (Diploma holders may be considered)

DIPLOMA courses: C (Female Certificate holders with KCSE C ma

3. Admission to a Public university/College is an added advan out NOT a guarantee for automatic award of the scholarship.

4. How to Apply:

b) Ensure you provide clear pdf format copies of your academic documents (University/College admission letter, certificates and transcripts whichever is applicable) from a recognized academic institution, GoK Refugee ID or waiting slip and GoK/UNHCR proof of registration as instructed in the online application form. Other testimonials will be submitted later if required. SCHOLARSHIPS

5. Application Deadline: Complete your application on or before close of business on May 22, 2023 at 0800AM EAT

6. Important Notes:

a) Candidates possessing non-Kenya academic documents are advised to translate and equate them with Kenya National Qualification Authority https://ga.knga.go.ke/ where applicable.

b) Eligible female candidates and Persons with Special Needs are encouraged to apply. c) Only qualified candidates, who are duly registered with UNHCR will be invited to participate

in the interviews.

d) Names of short-listed candidates shall be posted at respective WIK offices and UNHCR offices in Kakuma, Dadaab and Nairobi.

Only short-listed candidates will be invited by email to attend the interviews.

e) Information provided in identification and academic documents will be verified with relevant Government of Kenya authorities.
