This is a day to celebrate how teachers are transforming education but also to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent and vocation and rethink the way ahead for the profession. There is no doubt that being a teacher is a noble profession that deserves an equal amount of love and respect as any other profession. For our destitute teachers in South Sudan, I know it is not easy to be a teacher in South Sudan. It is the only field where our profession is underestimated, poorly paid, disrespected, and devalued, but we never give up. So, as long as we produce professional medics, economists, engineers, and other forms of professions, that shows they are disrespecting the knowledge they have but not you because you already imparted the knowledge to them.

Our dedication to shaping minds and hearts is truly remarkable. To all the inspiring educators, today we celebrate our passion, commitment, and the positive impact we make. I am wishing a fantastic World Teachers ‘Day to the incredible mentors like me and you who empower our future leaders
