Light Readers' Academy - Wau
As parents, you play a crucial role in your child's education. As you enroll your children in various schools across the country, here are some important pieces of advice to consider:
1. Research the school: Before enrolling your child, it's essential to research the school thoroughly. Look into its academic performance, teaching methods, extra-curricular activities, and facilities. Visit the school and observe the environment to get a better understanding of what your child might experience.
2. Consider your child's needs: Every child is unique, and their educational needs may differ. Think about your child's learning style, interests, strengths, and weaknesses. Choose a school that can cater to these needs and provide the necessary support.
3. Communicate with the school: Establish a good relationship with the school administration and teachers. Attend parent-teacher meetings, open houses, and other school events. This will help you stay informed about your child's progress and allow you to address any concerns you may have.
4. Encourage involvement: Involve your child in the decision-making process as much as possible. Ask for their opinions on schools they're interested in and involve them in school activities. This will make them feel more invested in their education and help them build confidence.
5. Set expectations: Set clear expectations for your child regarding their academic performance, behavior, and responsibilities. Establish a study routine and encourage them to take an active role in their learning.
6. Provide support: Support your child emotionally and academically. Help them with their homework, encourage them to participate in extracurricular activities, and celebrate their achievements.
7. Monitor progress: Regularly check in with your child to see how they're adjusting to their new school and how their academic performance is progressing. Address any issues promptly and provide additional support if needed.

Our First Cohort of Readers from Schools in Wau!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new reading program for schools in Wau. To kickstart this initiative, we have registered our very first cohort of readers from various schools across the State. These young individuals have shown immense potential and enthusiasm towards reading, and we cannot wait to see them grow as readers and leaders in their communities.
Our program aims to promote literacy, critical thinking, and a love for reading after school classes. By providing access to quality books and engaging activities, we hope to foster a lifelong passion for learning and exploration.
Registration for our program will open on 6th January. If you are a student/pupil or parent interested in joining our community of readers, please visit us during working hours at Comfort School in Nazareth or contact us directly for more information.
We look forward to seeing them shine bright in the world of literature.
Reading is very important for children to succeed in school and in life. It helps them build confidence, motivation, and understanding of the world around them. Being able to read allows children to learn more about different topics, understand directions on signs and posters, and even find reading as a form of entertainment.
Learning to read is a gradual process that starts from a young age, even before pre-school. Parents play a crucial role in fostering their child's love for reading by creating a supportive environment, reading aloud to them often, and providing age-appropriate books. This encourages children to develop an interest in stories and reading on their own.
Help your child how to read.
