Nigeria is a great nation , it has the biggest economy in Africa but also has the highest number of poor people because their economy is being manage by people who care about only they and their families. This is also effecting most African countries. The biggest problem is greed.

During the Southern Sudan liberation movement, our lives were shattered by attacks from the Sudan Government. Because we were not Muslim and we demanded freedom, soldiers came to our villages with guns and fire.

They burned our houses to the ground. In minutes, homes that took generations to build became ash. Granaries were looted, crops destroyed, and the trees that gave us shade were cut down.

They raided our cattle, which was not just wealth to us. Cattle are life, dowry, food, and identity for our people. When the cows were taken, families were left with nothing. Children went hungry and elders wept.

Worst of all, they took our young men and women. Many were enslaved. Sons were forced to work for strangers. Daughters were taken away and never returned the same. Families were torn apart, and we lived in fear every night.

One of the deepest wounds was the Tit-chok Mareng war in 2001. That year hurt us more than any other. Too many people died. Too many villages were wiped out. The screams from that time still echo in our minds.

Today, we are an independent nation. But it pains us that our government seems to have forgotten all these sacrifices. The mass graves, the burned villages, the stolen cattle, and the lost youth are treated like old news.

We do not ask for revenge. We ask to be remembered. Because if we forget Tit-chok Mareng war and all the villages that bled, then the suffering of our parents and grandparents will have been for nothing.

Today we commemorate the sacrifices made by the people of South Sudan during the liberation struggle from 1958 to 2005. We honor those who lost their lives and those who were injured in the pursuit of freedom.
We pay tribute to leaders and fighters such as Samuel G*i Tut, William Nyuon Bany, Kerubino Kuanyin, Arok Thon Arok, John Garang, Nyichugak Nyahiluk, Joseph Oduho, and many others who gave their lives for the cause.
We also recognize those who survived the struggle, including Dr. Riek Machar, Salva Kiir Mayardit, Kun Puoch, Joseph Waniga, Nyadeng Damabior, Hagliana Tany, and others who contributed significantly to the movement.
May we remember that the struggle was for all the people of South Sudan. Let us promote unity, peace, equality, and mutual respect without discrimination. Whether from Jikow, Nasir, Akobo, Adar, Bonga, Itang, Maker Payam, or any other village, we are one people with one shared future. May we continue to work together with a unified voice for the peace and development of our nation.
