I have just noticed that most of the children fail to perform well in many schools when parents are not well in collaboration with the teachers.

It is very rare for most of our parents to visit the school compound, some of them visited to pay the school fees and during the closing of the term only others don’t visit at all.

But when parents and teachers work together, the child benefits the most. The child feels supported from both sides and is more likely to progress.

𝑸𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕s.

🔘 supporting school rules, their children are always punctual at the school.
🔘 Encouraging children to behave well by respecting their teachers and other classmates.
🔘 Regularly check their exercise books, encouraging them to improve in their handwriting, drawing using pencils and neat work.
🔘 Encourage reading and revision after meals.
🔘 Teach kids on how to sharpen their pencils.
🔘 Make sure homework is done on time.
🔘 Reach out to teachers if the child has faced some challenges in performance.
🔘 Do not miss parents' regular conference meetings. They keep parents updated about their child's progress.
🔘Communicate with the teachers if the child gets sick.
🔘 Praising effort rather than just grades.

☑️If you are one of the parents and you expect your child to read well, behave well, perform well and succeed in school, please you must put real effort at home. Learning does not start and end in the classroom. It continues after school hours.

☑️I would like to strongly advise our mothers who spend so much
of their time busy watching TikTok videos, scrolling smartphone Facebook screens and never missed useless launching of division uniforms to support their children in school activities.

☑️Parents must discourage and ban their children from watching videos on TikTok.

If you get a girl who is well in debate club, best at mathematics, choir and composer of motivation academic songs, dramatized and good in poetry don’t hesitate she might be previously from Anguei.

Thukul Nyiir -Ayak Anguei Angok Girls’ school was one of the best primary schools within Jonglei and beyond. Many of its former pupils graduated from various recognized universities within Africa and abroad.

Aluel Malaak is currently in New York city pursuing her dream. She didn’t go there through a desperate journey but through scholarship.

Those of Rhoda Yar Abuol Bior, Akut Majak Ngueny, Atoch Matit, Akon Ghai and many others are still pursuing their dreams.
Rhoda Yar is a medical student at Juba university, Akut Majak Ngueny an engineering student at Makerere university and many others.

Well, some of them were forced to get married but currently they are managing their families.
Anguei Girls primary school was always the best in debating club, choir and composer of motivation academic songs, drama and poetry in Jonglei state.

The choirmasters at Anguei Girls school those days were Yar Reech Kuol-Agaany, Kuei Mayak, Akur Alier Aguaar and Now Ayor Panchol.

Many of you know that in every school there is a teacher who carries the full weight of monitoring the class daily attendance – we call him/her class teacher which is different from the normal subject class teacher.

The class daily attendance teachers play a many-sided role in the school; their salary must be at least different from the rest of the normal subject teachers.
𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝘂𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.
🔘Call the pupils' daily attendance( marking the register).
🔘Establish clear rules and routines in class from the start and regulate them.
🔘Monitors and encourages good behavior within the class and beyond the school compound.
🔘Compiling every term exam results.
🔘Communicate with the parents when a child misses school.
🔘Handle any indiscipline cases in the class.
🔘Supervise all the lessons taught in his/her class( ensuring the class is taught as per timetabled)

🔘He/she is always punctual and checks the class whether it is swept (clean) or dirty.
🔘The pupils are always punctual when their class teacher acts as an example.
🔘Participate in the selection of the class captain.

For the smoothness of every school there must be a great class teacher who facilitates their workload despite poor remuneration.

Many of our pupils find it hard to speak English due to the lack of experienced English teachers and poor foundation from the nursery section.

The children can walk barefoot from Nursery school up to seniors with difficulties in expressing themselves in English. I am always shocked when I see many schools with good names and their mottos.

95% of the pupils are shy, struggle with presentations in school, they fear failure, of saying the wrong thing. English teachers must Increase class active reading and Storytelling sessions participation instead of focusing on English- grammar only.

Children to be trained by school debate master’s and participate in the debate competition.

At least school directors hire well trained foreign teachers from the neighboring country and teach at the Nursery and lower classes respectively.

The English language speaking communication will not improve if the school doesn't have the following teachers.

School debate master teacher.
School poetry teacher.
School drama teacher.

Back to class after most of my pupils failed in the second term examination.

As a teacher, sometimes you may work hard with your pupils regularly by giving them homework, tests, quizzes or extra remedial lessons and still fail the challenging mock exam.

It's important to understand that failure is a normal part of learning, and the teacher needs to understand why the pupils failed and help them rectify problems.

I noticed; my pupils failed because … No one fails deliberately (unless there are other issues).
· Most of them regularly arrive to class late.
· Skipping the classes.
· Absenteeism.
· Spending most of their time with friends instead of studying.
· Jump from class to class(self-promotion).

Teachers are always not happy when they see their pupils failing. They often see pupils’ failure as a reflection on themselves, maybe they didn’t teach them well.

Let’s accept the challenge and make thorough revision before the end term examination.

Dear my candidates,

Note, your second term examination will be commented on possibly next week. Try to make practice in all the topics/subtopics which we have covered.

Your exam was set to standard level, in which all topics were taught, 50% easy, 30& harder and 20% skills application questions.
Remember, your exam was set within your South Sudan syllabus textbooks.

All questions which were sat covered all key areas that were covered.

Here are some of the topics/subtopics that we covered for this term.
· Circumferences-( dimeter, Radius, circumference, pi, 3.14)
· Areas of the circles, trapezia, squares, rectangles.
· Areas of the combined shapes.
·Time (24 hours clock time, 12-hour clock time, arrival time, departure time and time take)
· Part B-of time, (speed, distance, time, km/h, m/s)
· Calculation of degree Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit.
· Perimeter with intervals.
· Part 1 of scale drawing (scale in statement form and ratio form)
· Basic set (union set and intersection)
·Application of squares and square roots.
· Part 1 of statistics.
· Volume and capacity.
· Relationship of the units.
· % as decimal, fractions ….
· Part 1 of geometry.

Note we have done 6 assessment tests this term. All your exam papers will be a summary of all what we have covered.

Are your pupils still struggling with the multiplication chart (table)?
My lovely teachers, if you really want to build a child for tomorrow then,

please let him/her master multiplications chart from today.
These subtopics in primary 5 need multiplication concepts.
· Long divisions need knowledge of multiplications.
· L.C.M needs knowledge of multiplications.
· G.C.D/H.C. F needs knowledge of multiplications.
·Fractions need knowledge of multiplications.
·Area of squares, rectangles and triangles need multiplication concepts.

It took me a month to seriously commit myself for my class to master multiplications, now they can quickly recall multiplication charts very well and other subtopics are very simple to approach.

Please it’s not too late, you can start now, leave other topics and go back to multiplication charts, remember to give them step by step.

After watching the videos, you will notice that mathematics needs connections between different subtopics---

The knowledge or concept gained from 12 hours clock time/24-hour clock systems will help a pupil to solve many questions related to time.

Math is an ordered subject, with each concept relying on previous ones.

Before teachers rush to teach Km/hr.., M/s, speed, distances and so on…,😉

I would like to inform my colleagues teachers, that Math is an ordered subject, with each concept relying on previous ones.

Note, a teacher cannot rush to teach calculation of distances, speed and times while his/her pupils lack knowledge in 12 hours clock systems, 24-hour clock systems, starting time, time taken and the arrival time.

When teachers skip topics, pupils may struggle to understand the underlying principles and connections between different mathematical ideas.

Before teachers rush to Km/hr.., M/s, speed, distances and so on…, I would advise that Math topics build upon each other, and missing foundational concepts can create significant gaps in knowledge.

Let your pupils have a concept first on how to find time taken, Arrival time (ending time), and starting time (departure time).

They must have a concept on how to change the 12 hours clock system into 24-hour clock systems, and 12 hours clock systems into 24-hour clock systems.

Here are some short methods your pupils must master in time.

Arrival time (Ending time) = starting time (departure time) + time taken(duration).

starting time (departure time) = Arrival time (Ending time)- time taken(duration).

time taken(duration) = Arrival time (Ending time) - starting time (departure time).

All mathematics teachers are advised to encourage their pupils to practice mathematics often.

1. Change the following times into 24-hours clock time.
a) 3:30am
b) 12:20pm
c) 12:30am
d) 10:00pm
e) 10:30am
f) 12:00 midnight.

3. Mathematics test ended at 12:15 PM and lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Calculate the starting.
