Please note: This curriculum is intended for students who have been exposed to Somali language instruction in kindergarten or earlier.

We had the opportunity to present the textbooks curriculum to the St.Cloud community. Presentation generated discussion on Somali identity and feeling inclusive in the education system. The community was rich in understanding the importance of learning the Somali language heritage.

In St. Cloud community, we shared the Somali Textbook curriculum that uplifts our students’ identity. Learning Somali is a right we must protect and a responsibility we share while navigating challenging education systems together.

Hindis is launching its first Somali Language Textbook Curriculum, aligned with Minnesota’s ELA standards — a major milestone for cultural preservation, identity-building, and academic success for our kids.
