Summary
| Model | Structure | Stationarity | Cointegration | Applications |
|-------|-----------|--------------|----------------|--------------|
| VAR | Multiple time series; each variable depends on its own lags and others' lags | Assumes all variables are stationary | Not designed for cointegration | Macroeconomic modeling, forecasting |
| VECM | Extension of VAR for cointegrated variables; includes error correction | Non-stationary; cointegration required | Specifically for cointegrated variables | Long-term economic analysis |
| ARDL | Single equation; can include lags of dependent and independent variables | Mixed order of integration | Can handle both I(0) and I(1) | Short-run and long-run relationship analysis |
These models serve different purposes depending on the nature of the data and the research questions at hand.

The difference between data scientists and data analysts. It's easy to confuse the two, but what they do is actually very different. Data science is defined as creating new ways of modeling and understanding the unknown by using raw data. Here's a good way to think about it. Data scientists create new questions using data, while analysts find answers to existing questions by creating insights from data sources.
