The study used annual tuberculosis case records obtained from the Tuberculosis Treatment and Control Center in Bosaso, covering the period from 1996 to 2024 (29 annual observations). Using these data, the researchers compared 16 single and hybrid time-series forecasting models to identify reliable approaches for predicting TB trends and supporting disease surveillance and evidence-based public health planning in Somalia.

This important study examines how fish are handled, stored, transported, and marketed after harvesting, and how these practices affect fish quality, food safety, market value, and the overall performance of the fisheries sector in Bosaso.

The article provides valuable evidence that can help identify weaknesses in post-harvest fish-handling systems and promote improved preservation, storage, transportation, hygiene, and marketing practices. Strengthening these practices can help reduce fish spoilage and economic losses, protect consumer health, improve the livelihoods of fishers and traders, and contribute to food and nutrition security.

The study is particularly relevant to policymakers, fisheries authorities, researchers, investors, and development partners working to strengthen fisheries infrastructure and promote the sustainable use of marine resources in Puntland and Somalia.
