Lorenzo Gorvie Memorial Secondary School was known as the Rural Training and Commercial Institute with its Motto: Duces ut vivas. The school started as a Workers Training Centre for school dropouts along Parsonage Street, Waterloo, in 1971. Later the centre moved to Old Motor Road, Waterloo, between 1972 and 1973. Due to the proposed expansion of the Freetown - Masiaka Road, Lorenzo Gorvie Memorial Secondary School will be loosing the school bore hole water well, food stall and three (3) main buildings housing eight (8) classrooms including Staff Room, Guidance and Counselling Office and library.
