Youth Help Sierra Leone actively participated and contributed throughout Day One of the CYMG Conference on the Environmental Dimensions of Antimicrobial Resistance (CEDAR).

The sessions strengthened our understanding of how untreated wastewater, antibiotic residues, poor sanitation, and unsafe waste disposal contribute to the development and spread of antimicrobial resistance. The Youth Action Showcase also demonstrated the power of young people to develop practical, community-led solutions through the One Health approach.

YHSL remains committed to promoting environmental health, community awareness, and meaningful youth participation in Sierra Leone. We welcome partnerships and collaboration with organizations, researchers, funders, and youth networks working to address environmental AMR.

🌍 Amplifying the Voices of African Women and Youth

Today, Youth Help Sierra Leone was proud to participate in the Pre-RCM Consultation on African Women and Youth Priorities, held on 29 August 2026.

The consultation provided an important platform to bring forward the realities, priorities, and aspirations of young people and women across Africa. For us, meaningful development must go beyond discussions—it must translate into inclusive policies, investment, partnerships, and practical opportunities that reach young people and women at the community level.

Youth Help Sierra Leone remains committed to advancing youth leadership, women and girls’ empowerment, climate action, decent livelihoods, and meaningful participation in decision-making.

We are ready to collaborate with governments, development partners, civil society organizations, donors, and youth networks that share our vision of an Africa where no young person or woman is left behind.
