Did you know that nearly one-third of all food produced globally gets wasted?
That’s a lot of good food, you know (and money) going to waste. it’s resources, energy, and meals that could have been enjoyed
But don’t worry, there's got to be a way around every situation right! Here’s one.
Instead of wasting food, Do this
- Have a measurement: You don't just fetch rice and begin to cook simply because you want to eat rice, Get a cup, fetch the quantity that you know will be enough for you.
- Plan Your Meals – Before shopping, make a list and buy only what you need. No more impulse purchases that end up forgotten in the fridge
- Store Food Properly – Keep veggies fresh longer and label leftovers to avoid surprises in the fridge! 😅
- Love Your Leftovers – Turn yesterday’s meal into something new. (Soup, stir-fry, or even a sandwich!) Turn it into a new meal or freeze it for later. Last night’s rice can be tomorrow’s best meal 🤷
- Compost What You Can – Not everything can be saved, but food scraps can nourish your garden instead of filling up landfills
- Freeze It – Extra bread, fruits, or cooked meals? Your freezer is your best friend
Lastly, You can as well share it with a neighbour who might need it.
The economy is already hard, let's not make it harder by wasting food.
