To My Darling Executive,🫶🏾
This is, without doubt, the hardest message I’ve had to write.😔
Today, as I take my final bow and officially step down from office, I don’t just walk away from a title; I walk away from a bond that was built through sleepless nights, silent sacrifices, unspoken frustrations, inside jokes, and shared victories. A bond only we understand.
You weren’t just executives to me; you were my backbone, my light in the darkest days, my strength when leadership became too heavy. And the truth is, no amount of thank yous will ever be enough.🙏🏾
We didn’t have the perfect conditions. We didn’t always have the support we needed. But we had each other and that was more than enough. You showed me that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, but about walking with the right people who will hold your hands even when things don’t go as planned.
There were days I felt like giving up not because I didn’t believe in the vision, but because I was human. And every single time, one of you stood in the gap with your words, your efforts, or just your quiet presence. I saw it. I felt it. And I will never forget it.
Note: a leader is only as strong as the team beside them and with you all, I was unbreakable.😊
You fought beside me with courage, grace, and patience. You put the vision before your comfort. You defended what was right, even when it wasn’t popular. And you stayed true when others wavered.
And now, as our time comes to an end, I want you to know this: I am proud of you. I am grateful for you. And I will always carry this bond with me.
We may no longer wear the titles, but what we built together will echo far beyond this tenure. Because we didn’t just occupy positions, we served. And we didn’t just serve, we left something behind.
Remember, we came as individuals. We’re leaving as a legacy.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. Truth be told, I can't THANK YOU more.🙏🏾❤️🫶🏾
With deep love and endless respect,
Ibrahim Saidu Bangura

A NEW DAWN FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIOUSNESS AT UNIMAK: The Official Lunch of the Environmental Conservation Club📢📢
From: Office of the Vice President
To: Public
17/07/25
In a time when the world is screaming for climate justice, environmental accountability, and youth-led solutions to global sustainability crises, the University of Makeni is taking a giant leap forward.
With great pride and patriotic passion, the Office of the Vice President – Association of Mass Communicators (AMCU), through its vibrant and visionary occupant, Her Excellency Victoria Maggi Kanga, is pleased to officially unveil and launch one of the most anticipated student-led movements on campus, the Environmental Conservation Club UniMak (ECC-UniMak).
The launch of the Environmental Conservation Club stands as a fulfillment of a firm campaign pledge made by Vice President Kanga — a cause she holds dear, and one that echoes her lifelong commitment to climate action, sustainability, and student-driven environmental advocacy. In her own words: “This is not just a club; it is a movement, a mission, and a message to the world that UniMak students are ready to take the lead in defending our planet.”
Backed by the pragmatic support of the AMCU Executive and spearheaded by her Office, this landmark initiative is more than a student club — it is a revolution in green consciousness, aimed at transforming ideas into action and students into sustainability ambassadors.
The Vice President’s bold move to launch this initiative through her office redefines what student leadership should represent — not just governance, but legacy, purpose, and impact. It is a political statement that leadership is about service, about standing up for causes that matter, and about empowering students to become agents of environmental change.
"If you are not speaking for the environment, then you're silent in the face of a global crisis," VP Kanga emphasized.
"With the ECC, we are giving students a platform to rise, to act, and to lead."
The structure of the club will be worked out in due course. However, students who share in this green vision and desire to be part of history in the making are strongly encouraged to reach out directly to the Vice President via +232 74 331070 to express their interest and secure a seat at the table of impact.
This is the moment we’ve been waiting for.
This is the club our future demands.
This is the movement Victoria promised.
Let’s walk the talk.
Let’s conserve.
Let’s lead.
Let history remember that when the environment needed a voice — she answered.
Signed:
Victoria Maggi Kanga

AMCU 2024/25 Unveils Media Legacy: President Ibrahim Saidu Bangura Commissions Bluetooth Speaker, Launches Media Team & Presents Start-Up Kit for Practical Excellence
📢📢
13/07/2025
In what many have hailed as a monumental leap forward for the Department of Mass Communication, His Excellency Ibrahim Saidu Bangura, President of the Association of Mass Communicators (AMCU), has once again proven that transformative leadership is not about talk—it’s about tangible impact.
Yesterday, during the grand finale of the Annual Late Abdul Charles Mansaray Debate Championship, the AMCU President unveiled a brand-new Bluetooth speaker system procured for the department by the AMCU Executive 2024/25, underscoring the administration’s commitment to enhancing the learning environment of the department.
But the surprises didn’t stop there. In a historic moment for practical journalism and student-led media, Prezo Saidu officially established the Mass Communication Media Team—a pioneering move that will empower students to learn, lead, and implement classroom knowledge on the ground.
The Media Team, strategically headed by three of the department’s finest — Abu H. Kargbo, Beatrice Kamara, and Amidu Kallon — is tasked with driving hands-on media practice by covering campus events, managing departmental content, and giving students the opportunity to experience real-world media work in real time.
“We cannot speak of being communicators if we do not practice communication. This team is not just a body — it’s a legacy; a living lab where students will write, film, record, edit, and broadcast their own narratives. This is how transformation begins,” said Prezo Saidu to roaring applause.
To ensure the team starts strong and stays active, the President presented a Start-Up Media Kit, comprising a full professional tripod package and two set mic recorders—essential tools for quality production and on-the-go reporting. This deliberate investment signals a new era of media practice, content creation, and experiential learning within the department.
The President noted that this move is in line with the executive’s broader vision to "Bridge Theory with Practice," a vision that continues to inspire confidence, pride, and purpose among students of the Mass Communication Department.
This administration, under the bold leadership of His Excellency Ibrahim Saidu Bangura, is setting the gold standard — a government not only focused on events and policies, but on building lasting systems, legacies, and platforms for future Mass Communicators to thrive.
As the AMCU Executive 2024/25 continues to roll out initiatives that inspire and impact, one thing is certain: this is not just leadership — it is visionary governance in motion.
Long live AMCU!🙌🏾

His Excellency Ibrahim Saidu Bangura Delivers on His Promise: Rewards Top Three Winners of the Abdul Charles Mansaray Debate Championship
📢📢
12/07/25
In a compelling show of leadership, accountability, and commitment to student empowerment, the President of the Association of Mass Communicators (AMCU), His Excellency Ibrahim Saidu Bangura, has once again proven himself a man of his word. True to his promise made during the final Public Speaking lecture, Prezo Saidu personally funded and presented a cash token to the top three winners, Alimamy Kamara, Princess I. Banting and Kadijah M. M. Bangura of the Annual Late Abdul Charles Mansaray Debate Championship, exclusively organized for the first-year Mass Communication students.
This gesture, which took place shortly after the grand finale of the championship, was not just an act of goodwill but a bold reaffirmation of the President’s vision to ignite a culture of intellectual excellence, motivation, and oratory brilliance among emerging communicators.
“Leadership to me is not about titles or positions. It’s about impacting lives and creating platforms where young people can see the value of their voices,” remarked Prezo Saidu moments after issuing the prizes.
The Late Abdul Charles Mansaray Debate Championship, named in honor of a revered pioneer in Mass Communication at UniMak, has become a foundational tradition, nurturing the public speaking and critical thinking skills of the next generation of communicators. This year’s competition was no exception, delivering electrifying debates and revealing remarkable talents among the Year One class.
Special appreciation was extended to Paul Kamara Esq., the lecturer in charge of Public Speaking, whose relentless mentorship and visionary coordination made the event a resounding success.
As the AMCU administration continues to blaze new trails, this milestone serves as a strong reminder that under the leadership of Prezo Saidu promises made are promises kept.

16/07/25
The Office of the President – AMCU is pleased to officially announce that His Excellency Ibrahim Saidu Bangura, President of the Association of Mass Communicators and one of the most influential student leaders of our time, will deliver the Keynote Address at the inaugural Makeni Students Association of Journalists (MSAJ) Journalism Conference 2025, to be held at Pastoral Center Hall on Friday, 18th July, 2025 at exactly 10 a.m.
This groundbreaking event is themed: "Empowering the Next Generation of Ethical Storytellers Through Dynamic Digital Journalism, Fostering Leadership and Driving Meaningful Community Impact."
As a transformational figure in campus leadership and youth advocacy, Prezo Saidu has consistently raised the standard of student governance, digital communication, and media development. His invitation to serve as Keynote Speaker is not only timely but symbolic, reflecting the rising trust in bold, articulate, and action-driven student leadership.
It's worthy to note that Prezo Saidu will speak not merely as a student leader, but as a national voice of the youth, addressing the critical intersection of ethics, digital media, and transformational leadership. His keynote is expected to tackle: the urgent need for ethical journalism in an age of digital misinformation; the role of student journalists as nation builders and community watchdogs; the power of youth-led media to drive social change and civic engagement; and most importantly, the future of journalism in Sierra Leone.
From his days as a determined communicator to his current seat as AMCU President, Ibrahim Saidu Bangura has demonstrated unmatched clarity, courage, and charisma, traits that continue to earn him admiration across departments, campuses, and communities.
Conversely, this appearance further strengthens AMCU’s national visibility and places the Mass Communication Department at the center of Sierra Leone’s student-led media transformation.
