Museums connect us through culture, heritage and shared stories.

On , UNESCO and ICOM are joining forces to highlight the essential role museums play as places for dialogue, learning and exchange, where people and communities come together across generations and cultures.

Under this year’s theme, “Museums Uniting a Divided World,” we recognise the power of museums to foster understanding, strengthen social cohesion and create opportunities for diverse perspectives to meet.

At a time of rapid technological and social change, museums continue to evolve, embracing new opportunities while remaining places that preserve memory, encourage critical thinking and strengthen connections across communities.

Because museums do more than preserve the past. They help shape more inclusive, informed and connected societies for the future.
