The Students' Union upon its commitment to tap into opportunities outside the University, the President Emmanuel B Browne today, signed a memorandum of understanding of health Insurance with the management of Lifecare Hospital at Campbell Street for students of the University. The document entails that, students are to have medical facility with a decrease in the cost to be paid. Below are the categories:

Consultation—50% discount
Laboratory Test—20% discount
Procedures -20% discount
Medicine -10% discount

REQUIREMENTS
Must be a student of the University
Provision of a valid Student ID or Letter from the Students' Union.

The validity of the Health Insurance is only for Lifecare Hospital at 8 Campbell Street, Freetown.

In conclusion, students are hereby encouraged to utilize this opportunity as the Union is advancing for more. The Union is committed to seek the welfare of students for a better representation.

9th January 2023.

“Not everyone can be famous, but everyone can be great because greatness is determined by service”

Based on the above, The Students' Union Government today presented to the Administration a 2100L (Two Thousand One Hundred Liters) tank and Two Dozen of buckets donated by Milla Group of Company to Students' Union.

The donation was stimulated by the robust lobbying skills demonstrated by the Students' representatives to limit the daily constrains of students. The tanker will be effectively utilized for the constant supply of water to the difference restrooms and the buckets as thrash rubbers for the tidiness of the different classrooms.

The donation was presented to the Dean of Students and representatives from the Administration. The Dean was pleased that, the Union is making moves irrespective of the challenges and encouraged the Union to not relent as the Administration is proud of its operations.

Eventually, the Union is determined to give the best of service to the students and appreciate Milla Group of Company for the show of generosity and kindness.

17th December 2022.

The Students' Union Government UNIMTECH through the Ministry of Innovation and Technology organized an event named UNIMTECH 50 INNOVATORS.The event was a thrilling venture taken by the Union to calibrate students with requisite ideas, prototypes, products and any other innovative mind to expose their various know-hows.

The Union undertook such a stride to ensure that, problems affecting the University and society are solved, same way so the need to expose and encourage students to embrace the concept of innovation which can be an immediate positive change to society.

Going further, a host of students presented their ideas to the judges and audience in the European Hall. The hall was innovated with ideas and attendees were pleased that, such a platform has been created by the Students' Union body. The event ended with three winners who were awarded and certified for participating in such a historic event. The winners were:

Alfred Issa Fofanah 1st Position

Mabinty Martha Kargbo 2nd Position

Abdulai S. KAMARA 3rd Position

In all, the Union resonated with the University as innovation is the key to Technology and a space has been opened for students to be innovative. It can be recorded that, no other institution has ever had such an event in the nation. The event was fully sponsored by the Union, as more activities of benefit are underway.
