We are pleased to officially announce the leadership of the Kids Parliament Sierra Leone – Kenema Chapter for the year 2026.

This dynamic and hardworking team has played a key role in raising the profile of our chapter both district-wide and at the national level. Under the leadership of Hon. Janet Yambasu, the Kenema Chapter has achieved several significant milestones, including:
The official launching of the Kenema Chapter. Hosting of our first parliamentary sitting in Kenema.Consistent representation in national sittings in Freetown every two months.

This leadership team has demonstrated dedication, discipline, and vision and they remain committed to working closely with stakeholders, parents, and the wider community to promote children's voices, leadership, and development in Sierra Leone.

Today, the leadership of the Kids Parliament Sierra Leone – Kenema Chapter proudly attended the Launching of the Africell Marathon and Anti-Virus Campaign at the Kenema District Council Hall.

The event was graced by the presence of the Leader of Government Business, Hon. Mathew Nyuma, and other key dignitaries. Our leaders participated actively, representing the voices of children and youth in national development conversations.

We joined our mothers to celebrate the YOUNG WOMEN CONFERENCE for the voices of children advocating for our right and protection. We did a play that touches everybody's heart to end violence against children, early marriage and say no to FGM.

We are determined and ready. We will deliver.

The Kids Parliament Sierra Leone, Kenema Chapter, held a successful courtesy visit today with the newly appointed Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Kenema Division. This meeting was significant as the AIG replaces a long-standing friend of the children, and the Kids Parliament felt it was important to build a strong relationship with the new leadership.

During the engagement, the team congratulated the AIG on the new role and shared the vision, goals, and ongoing activities of the Kids Parliament in promoting children's rights and protection in Kenema.

The AIG warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed deep appreciation for the initiative. Most importantly, the AIG assured the Kids Parliament of his commitment and readiness to work hand-in-hand with the chapter in ensuring that the safety, rights, and voices of children are always protected and heard.

This marks the beginning of a renewed partnership between the Sierra Leone Police and the children of Kenema through Kids Parliament. Together, we will continue to champion protection, advocacy, and unity for the well-being of every child.
