And at midnight Paul Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God.what will you do at midnight? What will you do when the storms of your life begins to rage without ceasing? What will you do when you have prayed and hoped that things would get better for you, but instead they got worse? What will you do when it appears that all hope is gone? What will you do when everyone you thought you could count on does not show up on your behalf and even God Himself seems to be absent? What will you do at midnight? A time when it looks like the enemy is winning and you as a Christian is being defeated, according to the natural eyes. What will you do? What will you do when the enemy of your mind says no need to go on pressing your way, just give up.In the darkest hour of the night, Paul and Silas chose to pray and sing prison, persecuted for preaching the Gospel. Nevertheless, At midnight, (it doesn't get darker than it gets at midnight), they prayed and sang praises to God(Acts 16v25).They expressed their joy,and the result was a supernatural jailbreak. God shook up the prison, broke their bands and flung the gates open. They remained joyful in adversary, and gave expression to their joy.

PARLIAMENT VOTES FOR THE EXTENSION OF VOTER REGISTRATION

The Parliament of Sierra Leone has on Thursday 13th April 2017 extensively debated and voted for the extension of voter registration indefinitely, having regard for the independence of the National Electoral Commission (NEC) to later announce a date for the end of voter registration in the country.

This motion was carried by the House based on NEC’s request and an earlier motion voted for in Parliament with the view of not disenfranchising potential voters because of the problems associated with the on-going voter registration process in the country.

The following resolution has been approved by Parliament:
“That the period of registration of voters that was approved by a resolution of this Honourable House on Tuesday 4th April, 2017 be further extended until such time that the registration is completed by NEC”.

It was made clear by MPs that the “motion was moved in good faith”, with the view of registering eligible voters and that it has nothing to do with “more time or the alteration of the electoral calendar”.

MPs who spoke to the motion also said that the extension is purposeful for all Sierra Leoneans that are qualified to register for voting on 7th March 2018 elections, devoid of political considerations, but to give a say to them in the determination of governance as NEC is yet to reach her target of projected voters.

They also said that NEC being an independent institution of governance, and that the indefinite extension of voter registration by Parliament, will give them a greater leverage to come up with a definite date for the end of voter registration in the country.

However, some MPs feared that the motion might affect the electoral timelines.
