Today, Knowledge Network Solutions (KNS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF)!
The signing was done by the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Amara Idara Bangura, on behalf of the RSLAF, and Desmond Macfoy, CEO of Knowledge Network Solutions.
This marks the beginning of a long-term partnership to bring digital literacy, cybersecurity awareness, and international-standard training to our gallant armed forces.
Did you know? Cyberspace is now recognised as the FIFTH DOMAIN of warfare after land, sea, air, and space. Today's battles are also fought on computers and networks, and every modern military must be ready to defend its nation there. With this signing, the RSLAF is stepping boldly into the fifth domain!
What does this mean for the RSLAF and for Sierra Leone?

• ✅ Stronger protection for our nation against cyber threats
• ✅ Our “Computer on Wheels” mobile lab will take digital skills training directly to RSLAF personnel across the country

This journey began when senior RSLAF officers trained with us at KNS College, passed their international cybersecurity exams, trained the peacekeeping contingent on cybersecurity awareness, and showed that Sierra Leone's armed forces are ready to lead in the digital age.
The fifth domain is the new battlefield, and today, Sierra Leone stood up to defend it.

KNS COLLEGE SUPPORTS RSLAF PEACEKEEPERS WITH CYBERSECURITY TRAINING
Knowledge Network Solutions and KNS College successfully conducted cybersecurity awareness and cyber hygiene training for the latest cohort of Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces personnel preparing to serve on a United Nations peacekeeping mission.
The training programme was formally opened by Brigadier General Albert Sylvester Bockarie, ACDS, Intelligence Security & Cybersecurity, RSLAF, who highlighted the importance of preparing military personnel to operate safely and responsibly in today’s increasingly digital security environment.
The CEO of Knowledge Network Solutions and KNS College also spoke, noting that cybersecurity is essential to operational readiness, information protection, and force protection, and That It is the fifth operational domain where information, devices, and communications are contested.
The sessions were delivered by facilitators and trainers from KNS College and covered practical areas such as
• Cybersecurity fundamentals
• Recognition of phishing, online scams, and malicious links
• Password and account protection
• Two-Factor Authentication
• WhatsApp and mobile-phone security
• Responsible use of social media
• Protection of sensitive operational information
• Cyber incident identification and reporting
This training was provided as part of KNS College’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, reflecting the institution’s commitment to strengthening national cybersecurity awareness, supporting the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces and contributing to the successful preparation of Sierra Leonean personnel for international peacekeeping duties.
