We are excited to see Team Crop Care Salone, a dynamic group of brilliant young minds, prepare to showcase their innovative solution to one of agriculture’s toughest challenges – fruits and vegetable waste/spoilage. Their solar-powered cold storage facility aims to preserve harvested produce, keeping food fresh, farmers profitable, and ensuring that every harvest counts. 🌱💡

We are thrilled to congratulate Team Crop Care Salone for emerging as 2nd Place Winners in the Regional Pitching Competition of the Social Equity Program (SEP) Salone, Freetown! 🎉🌍

The team has won $500 in seed funding 💰 and now qualifies to represent at the National Competition scheduled for 27th September 2025 in Bo City, which will allow them to represent Sierra Leone in the Aftiinnovate Youth Challenge.

This is a big achievement and a clear sign of the creativity, hard work, and commitment of our youths. We wish Team Crop Care Salone the very best as they prepare for the national stage! 💪🌱✨

After 4 days of intensive learning, sharing, and growing together, the Social Equity Boot Camp officially came to a close on 17th May 2025. Yesterday, we had the honor of issuing certificates of participation to all our amazing attendees who showed dedication, curiosity, and drive throughout the entire journey.

This program would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our partners. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to CASE Salone, the organizers who led this impactful initiative, JA Africa for their outstanding coordination and support, and the Z-Zurich Foundation for providing the funding that made everything possible.

Day 3 – Empowering the Future.

We’re excited to share highlights from Day 3 of 4 of the ICT Bootcamp currently underway in Freetown — a powerful initiative designed to equip young people with the tools they need to thrive in today’s world.

Organized by CASE SALONE, through JA Africa, and funded by the Z Zurich Foundation, this program focuses on four key areas: Digital Literacy, Job Readiness, Entrepreneurship, and Mental Well-being.

Today’s sessions were hands-on, practical, and deeply impactful. Participants explored critical digital skills, sharpened their job market readiness, and engaged in conversations around building resilience and maintaining mental wellness in an increasingly digital world.

As collaborators, we at Elevate Afric Innovation are proud to support this initiative and witness firsthand the transformation happening in the lives of these young participants.

The momentum is growing stronger as we dive into Day 2 of the Social Equity Bootcamp! Today was packed with engaging sessions that challenged our participants to think critically, collaborate in teams, and push beyond their comfort zones.

Workshops focused on entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, personal development, and problem-solving—empowering our youth with the mindset and tools to become future-ready leaders. The energy, creativity, and passion in the room were simply inspiring!

From breakout sessions to impactful storytelling, every moment reminded us of why this initiative matters. We are investing in young lives, creating space for possibilities, and nurturing future changemakers across Sierra Leone.

Today marks the exciting kickoff of the 4-Day In-Person Bootcamp under the Social Equity Programme for Underserved Youth aged 16–25 in Sierra Leone. With the theme "Creating Bright, Boundless Futures," this transformative event brings together over a hundred enthusiastic young minds from diverse backgrounds to learn, connect, and grow.

The energy in the room is electric, as participants engage in powerful conversations, group activities, and mentorship sessions designed to build their entrepreneurial, digital, and leadership skills.
