He stated:

Yesterday, at the Capstone (Graduation) Ceremony of Cohort 8 Peace Fellows of the Rotary Peace Center, Makerere University , I had the distinct honor and privilege, following my resounding nomination and approval by both my Professors and Colleagues to serve as the Chair, alongside my exceptional colleague, Sirianna from the United States.

The ceremony was truly remarkable, a celebration of scholarship, leadership, and global commitment to peace. It was an inspiring convergence of diverse minds united by one shared mission: building sustainable peace in our world.

It was also a proud moment for our incoming Cohort, as we were formally inducted and certified by the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre, following an intensive and transformative Leadership Training Programme earlier in the week.

I remain deeply grateful for the trust reposed in me and for the opportunity to represent the Sierra Leonean spirit within this global network of peace leaders and changemakers.

Many thanks also to Professor Helen, Dr. Samson, among others, for the amazing work they are doing.

The high-level deliberations are focused on shaping a secure and prosperous future for African creativity. Discussions are centered on tackling the digital frontier, specifically addressing digital piracy and the profound challenges presented by Artificial Intelligence (AI). Furthermore, participants are working to advance regional harmonisation and robust enforcement mechanisms for IP protection across member states.

‎A core objective is to future-proof the industry by exploring the future of copyright and related rights in Africa’s vibrant creative industries. This commitment extends to strengthening governance, transparency, and institutional agility to effectively support the sector.
