On the 8th January, 2022 around 11a.m. to 12p.m. we had a great loss of a kid at the age of 3yrs+ and his birthday would have been next month February according to what parents said. He is a student of Masjid Nasrullah Learning Center Brima Lane, Freetown.
The house where he stayed is approximately 15ft distance from the Masjid/Learning Center where Islamic classes are taken.
The video attached below was taken during morning classes before the incident happened. We off class that morning at exactly 9:15 a.m.
According to explanations, that morning when classes are over he returned home to his mother by then his father has gone for work. He asked his mother to by him sweets and other food. After after eating his mother asked him to go for sleep while she was outside 20ft. distance from house.
30 minutes after people begin to see smoke coming out from the roof of the house at there own apartment. Those who we are sitting with her outside began to ask 'is it not smoke that is coming out from your apartment?'
She shocked and Shout my child! my child is inside! and ran to the front door of her apartment but unfortunately unable to get through. The door was overheated there was no man around to help the place was quiet with women and her hands got roasted through the fight in getting through the door.
Except when her colleagues hold her off the door and if not she would have been dead too in the fire outbreak.
Alhamdulillah for the intervention of the Fire force who came and try their best to cool the tension of the fire and if not it would have transferred to the other houses linked it the youth went in to look and met him dead.
