Official Commencement of Classes with the Imam Development Program-Imams in Sierra Leone at One Deen Educational Institute.

The One Deen Educational Institute is proud to announce the official commencement of its collaboration with the Imam Development Program to enhance the capacity of their Imams across Sierra Leone through different skills and developmental programs starting with training on Early Childhood Care And Education. This initiative by IDP aims to empower Imams in their vital leadership roles within their communities, particularly in guiding and nurturing young children in various environments throughout the country.

On Wednesday, our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mohamed Keita, along with Managing Director, Mr. Mohamed Tafsir Fofanah, and our dedicated tutor for the first clalss on Early Childhood Care and Education , Mr. Idrissa Bangura(who also has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Milton Margai) traveled to Makeni to kick off the training for Imams residing in that region.

Yesterday, we warmly welcomed the Freetown batch at our headquarters as they embark on this important journey. We are confident that this program will not only enhance the leadership skills of our Imams but also strengthen their capacity to positively influence the next generation. By integrating early childhood education into their spiritual and community roles, Imams will be better equipped to promote holistic development, moral values, and community cohesion.

We believe this program will create lasting benefits for our Imams, empowering them to serve as more effective leaders, educators, and role models. Ultimately, it will contribute significantly to the growth and unity of the Muslim community in Sierra Leone, fostering a more enlightened, compassionate, and resilient society.

Imam Development Program (IDP) Partners with One Deen Educational Institute (ODEI) to Provide Skills and Development Training to Their Imams Across Sierra Leone!

On the 10th of May 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of One Deen Educational Institute (ODEI), Mr. Mohamed Keita, and Managing Director of the One Deen College Sector, Mr. Mohamed Tafsir Fofanah, traveled from Freetown to attend the West Africa Leadership Summit hosted by the Imam Development Program (IDP) at Tariq Resort in Lungi.

At the summit, we delivered a formal presentation showcasing the Institute’s rapid progress and educational impact within just 14 months of establishment and more especially presenting our own version of Imams course called the "Imams & Sheiks Tech-Training Program".

The session was attended by Mr. Bilal Ismail, CEO of IDP, alongside the Coordinator for IDP Imams in Sierra Leone, Imam Amadu Fofanah as well as the IDP imams from across Sierra Leone.

Alhamdulillah, following continued fruitful discussions, One Deen Educational Institute will now be officially training their imams in Sierra Leone. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission to empower religious leaders with the tools, skills, and community leadership needed to meet the demand of today’s world.

The Imam Development Program (IDP), is an international Islamic organisation based in South Africa dedicated to supporting, empowering and adding value to the lives of Imams across Africa.

We are excited and honored to begin this journey together with IDP to support, develop, and uplift imams across the nation. May Allah bless this partnership and make it a means of lasting benefit for the Ummah, Ameen.

We are thrilled to share the remarkable progress of Batch 2 of our Adult English Education Program students Mariam (from Guinea) and Hussainatu (from Gambia), who were once deprived of learning English due to societal norms.

In just six weeks, they've made tremendous strides. They can now identify and write the 26 alphabets, distinguish between consonants and vowels, and recognize the 44 sounds in English.

Our AIEP'S director, Mr. Tafsir Fofanah who has a linguistics background focuses on practical, enjoyable scenarios, moving away from traditional drilling methods. A breakthrough moment came when he helped them realize that nouns, pronouns, and verbs including adjectives exist in their indigenous languages, too, which we proved in class accordingly, sparking laughter and hope.

Today, they're able to distinguish nouns from pronouns, including common and proper nouns, and identify various types of pronouns. Witnessing their growth and confidence is truly rewarding, and we're proud to be part of their journey👌

3.Persons planning to travel abroad and want to sit their English/language exams such as IELTS.

First Phase of Saudi University Application Support Concludes.

Alhamdulillah, the first phase of the Free Application Assistance for Saudi University Scholarships (for undergraduates), provided by the Supreme Islamic Council in collaboration with One Deen Educational Institute, is now complete.

We provided guidance, advice, and technical support to over 85 prospective applicants.

The deadline for master's applications is in October, while the undergraduate application period has now closed.

Our second phase, focusing on Master's Application Assistance, will be announced at a later date, In Shaa Allah.
