Congratulations to our Mandela Washington Fellow Dr. Ahmed Al-Hassan Sheriff for emerging as the Winner 🏆 of the Venture School Pitch Competition of the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center at the University of Iowa, one of the leadership institutes of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.
Out of 25 entrepreneurs from 20 countries across Africa, his idea on Promoting Access to Oral Health Services in Salone, won the top prize.

As Ramadan is fastly approaching there are a lot of poor, needy, and deprived Muslim Communities, Masjids, and Individuals that things are very difficult for before and during Ramadan. As Muslims, giving charity to the poor and needy is one of the recommended acts that Islam has prescribed for us to attain Jannah. It's upon this worthwhile note that the Goodwill Humanitarian Foundation Sierra Leone is calling on the Muslim community to donate whatever little amount, food items, clothing, praying mats, and kettles for deprived Masjids and Muslims in Sierra Leone, West Africa. We are aiming at reaching out to poor Muslims, families, and Jamaats living in deprived communities.
We are also open to collaborating with individuals, families, & organizations during the blessed month of Ramadan. Kindly reach out to us to donate on your behalf or behalf of your family to a certain set of deprived communities, individuals, and Masjids in Sierra Leone during the blessed month of Ramadan.

On Friday the 26th November 2021, Amb Tejan Ishaq Kamara the Executive Director of Initiative for Children with Special Needs hosted the grand finale of the Future Leaders Initiative SL essay and poetry competition 2021. It was an educative and inspiring event, as many people attended. The theme was "Reimagine Sierra Leone without Violence against Children".
As professional educators, child advocates and youth in development workers, we'll continue to render our professional & humanitarian support to children and young people in our own little spaces. Thanks to the entire membership of the Future Leaders Initiative for such a wonderful event, and thanks for having me as your host. I am grateful and I remain humbled.
