Working out of poverty or begging in poverty?

In a nation highly infected with poverty, people can chose to either work out of poverty, beg in poverty or become thieves(including corrupt government officials).

The choice to work out of poverty means learning a skill or trade, getting a lucrative formal education etc.

People who chose these path become self-reliant and provide for them selves and family. Unfortunately there is another group of people they have to provide for and the sad reality is that this group is not even the disabled ones but rather abled body beggars and thieves (corrupt government officials).

Beggars are mostly abled men and women who have chosen not to work for a living but extort others on a daily basis for their needs and wants. Of cause being charitable and extending a helping hand to others is the bedrock of humanity but people misuse this character in well meaning Sierra Leoneans.

Our streets are filled with them in their folds of tens, fifties, and hundreds. In our market places, by way sides, car parks, shops and places of worship. All the while our fields are crop less, skills training schools are empty.

Thieves including pocket pickers, harm robbers, fraudsters, and corrupt officials both in government and private organizations dis-stabilize not only the peace and tranquility of the people but also ignite hatred ness amongst others. They come to steal, destroy and plunder. They seek not that which blesses all and contribute to our nation but seek to only satisfy their pleasures.

I urge every abled Sierra Leonean which I think we all are not withstanding our circumstances to work ourselves, or families, our communities, and our nation out of poverty. Our leaders being out there always begging for donors to support causes we are capable of funding is a disgrace to our independence and human capital.
But it has to start with me and you.

We should not be idling away our time nor should we burying our talents. When we do any of these we are on the path of becoming beggars and thieves.
