On 8th April, 2026, students from the Gender Equity Society, Fourah Bay College, through the leadership of Her Excellency Esther Tholley, joined a one-day workshop on designing keywords for the E-Monitoring Plus Platform focused on addressing Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence ( ) organized by UNDP in Sierra Leone .
A total of 25 students from the Institute of Gender Research and Documentation actively participated in this timely and insightful training, which brought together key national stakeholders and students to strengthen collective understanding of cyber threats and online gender-based violence.
The session created a valuable space for learning, dialogue, and collaboration, where participants examined real-life TFGBV cases in Sierra Leone and identified patterns, keywords, and digital indicators used in tracking online abuse. This engagement further deepened our understanding of the evolving nature of gender-based violence in the digital space.
Gender Equity Society, we remain committed to empowering students with opportunities that build capacity, strengthen advocacy, and promote meaningful participation in national and global conversations on gender equality and digital safety.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the organizers and partners for this impactful initiative and look forward to more opportunities that continue to equip and inspire students within the department. Thank you United Nations United Nations Development Programme - UNDP
