Natural Bee Feeding and Health (BeeCare) is an Erasmus+ KA220-VET project promoting eco-friendly beekeeping by reducing chemical dependency through natural feeding, knowledge transfer and innovation in bee health.

🐝 Nová dotačná výzva MPRV SR – OPEĽOVACIA 2026

➡️ Dávame do pozornosti zverejnenie Výzvy č. 12001/2026/OPEĽOVACIA Ministerstva pôdohospodárstva a rozvoja vidieka SR.

🌼 Téma opeľovačov úzko súvisí aj s aktivitami projektu BeeCare, preto radi túto aktuálnu možnosť podpory posúvame ďalej všetkým, ktorých sa môže týkať.

📅 Termín na doručenie žiadostí: do 15. októbra 2026

💻 Žiadosť sa pripravuje prostredníctvom systému eGrant a následne sa elektronicky podpísaná štatutárnym zástupcom zasiela do elektronickej schránky MPRV SR.

⚠️ Dôležité: Žiadosť nie je možné zaslať poštou ani podať osobne. Na jej odoslanie je potrebný elektronický podpis štatutárneho zástupcu.

👉 Bees are far more than honey producers – they are essential pollinators that support biodiversity, food security and the regeneration of forests and natural landscapes.

🌾🐝 The BeeCare project was proudly represented at the 15th National Field Days Exhibition, held in Dolná Krupá, Slovakia, on 9–10 June 2026.

✅️ As the coordinator of the BeeCare project, IZPI participated in this major agricultural event, which brought together farmers, advisors, researchers, students and other stakeholders from across the sector.

✅️ At our information stand, we introduced visitors to the project, shared updates on its ongoing activities and presented some of the results achieved so far.
🫶We were particularly pleased to engage in valuable discussions with beekeepers who visited our stand, exchanging experiences and perspectives on current challenges and opportunities in beekeeping.

➡️ Events like these are an excellent opportunity to raise awareness, share knowledge and strengthen connections between research, innovation and practice.

➡️ Spring is one of the busiest and most important periods for both bees and beekeepers. As hawthorn and acacia trees come into bloom, bees collect nectar from thousands of flowers, transforming it into one of nature's most valuable products – honey.🍯

🐝The BeeCare project project is not only about meetings, presentations, and discussions around tables and laptops. It is mainly about connecting expert knowledge with real-life practice and the experience of people who work with bees every day. 🐝
➡️ During the 2nd BeeCare partner meeting in Romania, the project partners had the opportunity to visit an experienced beekeeper in Hisiaș village, Timiș County, who shared valuable practical insights into sustainable beekeeping, natural bee feeding practices, and the challenges beekeepers are currently facing.
🤝 These kinds of field visits are an essential part of the BeeCare project. They help us ensure that the project outputs will not remain only theoretical, but will provide practical and useful knowledge for everyday beekeeping and support bee health in a sustainable way. 🌿

🐝 On 21–22 May 2026, the second meeting of the BeeCare project partners took place in Timișoara, Romania.
✅️ The meeting focused on reviewing the project progress, coordinating upcoming activities, and dividing responsibilities among the partners.

➡️ The coming months will be demanding for the entire consortium, as all partners work towards achieving the main goal of the project – supporting sustainable beekeeping, strengthening knowledge exchange and innovation in the beekeeping sector, and contributing to the protection of bee populations and biodiversity.

🐝 The meeting confirmed the strong commitment of all partners to successfully deliver the planned project outputs and activities. 🤝

🐝🌿 Goat Willow – A Lifeline for Bees in Spring
👉 Early spring is a critical period for bees. ℹ️ After winter, they are weakened and urgently need a reliable food source. One of the most important plants during this time is the goat willow, which blooms very early and provides bees with pollen and nectar essential for restoring strength and supporting colony development.
ℹ️ Beyond helping bees, goat willow also plays an important role in the wider ecosystem – it influences the development of bee colonies and therefore impacts pollination and future crop yields.
ℹ️ Willows are also the source of a unique willow honey known for its delicate flavor and beneficial health properties.
In the context of climate change, the importance of early flowering nectar plants is becoming even greater – stable food sources at the beginning of the season can determine the survival of bee colonies.
👉 That is why supporting and planting these trees in landscapes, gardens, and rural areas is a simple action with a significant positive impact on nature.

🐝 The first BeeCare project newsletter is out!

➡️ The BeeCare project is gradually getting underway, and we are happy to share our first newsletter, where you can learn more about the project, its objectives, and the activities planned for the coming period.

➡️ As the project is still in its early phase, there are not many results to present yet. However, we are actively working on the project activities and hope to share more concrete progress, insights, and results in the near future that will contribute to supporting natural bee nutrition and reducing reliance on chemical solutions in beekeeping.

📩 Stay tuned – we will continue sharing updates and project outputs along the way.
