🐝 The BeeCare project officially starts!
The BeeCare partner consortium has begun working on a new international project focused on sustainable and eco-friendly beekeeping.
On 27 November 2025, Inštitút znalostného pôdohospodárstva a inovácií hosted the kick-off meeting of the BeeCare project, coordinated within the Erasmus+ KA2 – VET programme. During the meeting, partners aligned on the working framework and addressed key issues essential for a successful project launch.
🐝 Why BeeCare?
BeeCare responds to a growing challenge in beekeeping: the lack of natural bee nutrition, which weakens colonies, reduces resilience, and increases the risk of colony collapse. The project promotes natural feeding and care practices that help beekeepers reduce dependency on commercial products and move towards more sustainable solutions.
🎯 Project objectives:
• strengthen bee colony health through natural nutrition (own honey and pollen),
• prevent weak brood development and winter losses,
• improve proper autumn feeding practices crucial for colony survival,
• support biodiversity and ecological beekeeping by reducing chemical inputs,
• provide education and practical tools for long-term sustainable beekeeping.
👥 Target groups:
• Beekeepers – main users of project results,
• Consumers and local communities – benefiting from higher-quality, eco-friendly bee products,
• Professionals (farmers, researchers, advisors, universities, environmental organisations).
