In najbolj zabaven del predstavitve?
DAY 5 highlights!
We wrapped up our training by creating an “AI Learning Agreement” for primary school students, outlining how to use AI responsibly—asking for permission, seeking guidance, doing our own research first, using AI as support rather than copy-paste, and being honest about when we use it. We also discussed what students should understand: that AI can be wrong, doesn’t replace learning, and must be used ethically.
In groups, we tackled real classroom problems and used AI to explore possible solutions before analysing the results.
We ended the day with a certificate ceremony and warm goodbyes.

✨ **Friday, December 28 – A Glimpse into Classroom Life at Nelson Mandela School** ✨
Our day began in 5th grade Social Studies, where we observed a unique and calming start to the lesson: students gather quietly after the sound of a small bell, ready to learn. With a warm-up quiz through Plickers and a Canva presentation, the teacher created an engaged and focused learning atmosphere.
In 1st and 2nd grade Flex Math, we were introduced to **Anton.app**, an interactive platform that gives students—and teachers—instant feedback and clear insight into learning progress. Although the youngest learners first need time to master logging in and basic computer skills, the tool becomes an excellent support for practice across subjects.
In 4th grade Environmental Science, the topic was “traffic safety.” Two students took on the role of teachers, leading a quiz and collaborating with their classmates to solve tasks. Using the smartboard and interactive materials, the class worked together creatively and independently.
Each classroom reminded us how capable, motivated, and responsible students can be when given trust, tools, and supportive guidance.

DAY 4 highlights!
We explored an AI-powered creative story chain, where each group wrote a story through a mix of teamwork and AI suggestions. We also tried SUNO for AI-generated music and discussed ethical concerns in education using scenario-based discussions.
A big focus was the EU AI Act— the world’s first AI regulation — and what it means for schools: risk assessment, human oversight, transparency, data protection, and accuracy. We covered which AI uses count as “high risk,” what parents have the right to know, and what school leaders should prepare for.
We rounded off the day by testing practical tools: ChatPDF, Socrative, Rehearsal Coach in PowerPoint, Grammarly, and shared our thoughts on AI in assessment.
What a learning-packed day!
After the lecture, we went to a group dinner where we socialized, discussed potential Erasmus collaborations, and even did a bit of dancing.
Nelson Mandela Primary School
A wondeful, spacious school filled with incredibly warm-hearted teachers and truly caring relationships.
We felt your positivity, support, and passion for learning in every classroom.
Thank you for welcoming us so kindly. Your school is a shining example of what education can be when hearts lead the way. 💛
✨ **Thursday, 27 December – A Day of Creativity and Collaboration** ✨
Our classrooms were full of warmth, laughter, and active learning today.
In **Math Flex**, students explored “numbers in love” with card games and hands-on materials, discovering number pairs that make 10 or 100. The room was filled with encouragement, praise, and supportive peer interactions.
In **Drama**, Grade 5 created and performed their own short plays. In a relaxed, fun atmosphere, they practiced being both confident actors and respectful, engaged audience members. After each performance, the class shared positive feedback and celebrated what went well.
In **Mother Tongue Flex** (Grades 1–2), the lesson began with positive recognition, followed by energizing warm-up games and pantomime group work (Minecraft, sport, horse riding, dance). Students practiced teamwork, expression, and movement throughout the session.
💛 A wonderful day filled with creativity, cooperation, and joyful learning.
DAY 3: Exploring AI, Prompts & the Future ✨
Today was all about understanding how to communicate with AI, how to evaluate its output, and how to think critically about the future of technology.
🔍 Deep Case Study
We began with an in-depth look at a real example to better understand how AI tools process information.
💬 Prompt Generation
We explored why prompts (instructions) matter so much and how a clear structure improves results.
Using the CLEAR model (Context, Length, Examples, Audience, Role), we learned how to craft effective prompts that guide AI toward high-quality answers.
🧪 Group Experiment
In groups, we created our own prompt for a topic we teach, then tested it in several tools (ChatGPT, Claude.ai, Perplexity). After comparing the responses, we discussed which tool provided the most helpful results.
⚙️ Prompt Generator
We tried a tool that automatically generates prompts and compared its usefulness with our own versions.
📝 AI-Generated Feedback
We tested how different AI tools provide feedback on student work and quickly discovered an important truth:
AI is not reliable for assessing knowledge, as the feedback varies widely and often lacks accuracy.
🔎 How to Spot AI-Generated Work
We discussed key signs such as writing style, shallow understanding, and incorrect details.
We also tried out Quillbot, a tool designed to help detect AI-generated text.
👥 Group Discussion
We reflected on the areas where students use AI the most and how this affects learning and teaching.
🏛️ Visit to Futurium
The whole group took the metro to Hauptbahnhof and walked to Futurium, where we explored cutting-edge technologies and reflected on what kind of future we want for our planet.
✨ A day full of critical thinking, innovation, and imagining the world of tomorrow. 🚀
Erasmus+ Job Shadowing – Day 3 in Berlin
📍 Nelson Mandela International Primary School
On the third day of our job shadowing visit, we observed four lessons: Mathematics in grades 6 and 5, Environmental Science in grade 3, and English in grade 6.
🧮 Mathematics, Grade 6
Students revised decimal multiplication using whiteboard tablets and checked their solutions independently. The atmosphere was calm and highly focused, with the teacher encouraging responsibility and quiet cooperation.
🔮 Mathematics, Grade 5 – Harry Potter Escape Room
The lesson was designed as a Harry Potter–themed escape room, which made it especially engaging. By solving symbolic math tasks, students unlocked new challenges while practising written calculations up to 100,000 (multiplication, division, addition and subtraction). The lesson was taught in German, with additional support provided to students who are not yet fluent.
🌿 Environmental Science, Grade 3
Students discussed the concept of community and talked about their relationships with grandparents—how often they see them and what role they play in their lives. The classroom environment was very calm and respectful.
🇬🇧 English, Grade 6
The class worked with the book Melissa (George) by Alex Gino. Students used facial expressions to show the emotions of the main character and then visited stations where they recorded the character’s feelings. They also wrote a first-person diary entry on paper, stepping into the role of Melissa/George. Two teachers were present: one leading the lesson and one providing support.
The practices we observed in Berlin strongly align with the goals of our ROSA project, promoting independence, inclusion, creativity, innovative learning approaches and the professional growth of teachers.

A Day in Berlin & an Afternoon with Artificial Intelligence
In the morning (10:00–12:00), we enjoyed a guided tour of Berlin:
we walked past the Brandenburg Gate, the Parliament, memorials dedicated to victims (Sinti and Roma, Holocaust), remnants of the Berlin Wall, Hitler’s bunker, the former ministry of East Berlin, and the legendary Checkpoint Charlie – and sweetened the experience with a cup of hot chocolate.
We learned a great deal about World War II, Na**sm, the Cold War, and the fall of the Wall that reunited the city.
The afternoon (14:00–19:00) was dedicated to learning about artificial intelligence:
we reflected on what intelligence is and how machines learn from data. We explored the differences between AI, ML, DL, and GenAI, the advantages and limitations of using AI in education, as well as the risks of AI “hallucinations.”
In pairs, we shared our first experiences with AI, and then in groups tested different tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok …), using them to create explanations suited for 8-year-olds, university students, and parents.
We also experimented with Gemini Storybook, Gemini Gems, and Gamma for creating presentations.
It was a day filled with history, new knowledge, and inspiration for the future.
Erasmus+ Job Shadowing – Day 2 in Berlin
📍 Nelson Mandela International Primary School
Today we observed three very student-led lessons: Environmental Science, Social Learning and English.
In 4th grade Environmental Science, students were building electric circuits using special experiment boxes prepared by the University of Berlin. We also presented our school – the pupils were especially excited about the photos of our gym and playground!
In 6th grade Social Learning, students chose their own “big question” related to everyday life (screen time and mental health, cyberbullying, animal-assisted learning …). They researched online and created presentations, podcasts or reports.
In 4th grade English, students worked with colour-coded word cards (nouns, verbs, adjectives) and created their own sentences. We even met a boy, Neil, who had lived in Slovenia for four years and attended an international school in Ljubljana – a lovely surprise!
Another inspiring day full of creativity and active learning. ✨
Anja Habič Anja Erjavec Maja Bergant
The first day began with essential information about navigating Berlin, including public transport guidance and an overview of the city’s key cultural and historical sites.
