Happy St. Nicholas day 🎅 Fun fact about Slovenia’s Miklavž you probably didn’t know:

Miklavž (Saint Nicholas) has been bringing gifts to Slovenian kids since at least 1839 – that’s a good 50+ years BEFORE Santa Claus even became popular in Europe!

While the Coca-Cola Santa was still busy being invented in America, Slovenian children were already polishing their shoes on December 5th for the original bearded gift-giver, complete with angels and scary chained devils (parkelj) checking who’s been naughty 😈👼

So yeah… Slovenia was basically “Santa Claus, but make it more Slavic and earlier”
