To my dearest Happy Offspring followers, as most of you know, I have relocated to Melbourne this year June, which explains the radio silence.. it is also with the heaviest heart that I share my break from any form of birth and post-partum work for the meantime ... as I am occupied with my own family.
To all the lives which I have journeyed with / alongside , thank you for allowing me the honour to be part of your story. To those who have been waiting for my reply, I sincerely do apologise.
To my dear pregnant mamas, remember to invest in childbirth education before your baby arrives. Include your partner in your preparation because you will need him to be your voice in many aspects. Learn about your rights in the delivery suite. Do not be fooled by fear mongering tactics. Follow your heart, listen to your instincts... birth is an instinctive process. Trust the process. Your body is capable of many wonderful things... and you.. have the power to go through it. Believe in yourself.. let your fears go... husbands, hold your wife's hand .. guide her in this life changing journey and trust her. Be there for her in every step of the way, she's doing amazing work bringing your child to earth.
If you want to get a doula, arrange for an interview with them... do your shopping and find one who resonates with you.. one who can support you through your journey .. one who is passionate about being there with you.. there are plenty of good doulas in Singapore.. get in touch with them n be ready to be blown away :)
Last but not least, motherhood is challenging. It is hard. It is bitter. It can be so challenging... and so lonely.. don't ever forget to trust the process. Ride in the waves... yell for help when u need it.dont be afraid of judgements... (your true village ppl will come running to help u) have 0 expectations.. one can never be fully prepared for this roller-coaster journey.. but once u taste the sweetness of it, ull see the joy and worth in it.
😊
And with that, I leave you with my heaviest goodbye.
❤️
Much love,
Doula Shaheeraa Khan
