๐ Saga Dawa โ The Month of Merits
Saga Dawa is the most sacred month in the Tibetan Buddhist calendar, running this year from 17 May to 15 June 2026. It culminates on the full moon day of 31 May, known as Saga Dawa Dรผchen โ the holiest day of the year for Tibetan Buddhists. This year, it coincides with Vesak Day.
This sacred month commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana of Lord Shakyamuni Buddha.
โจ Why is this month so special?
It is known as the "month of merits" โ every act of goodness, however small, is magnified during this time. A beautiful opportunity to pause, reflect, and do a little more good in the world. ๐
May this Saga Dawa be filled with virtue, compassion, and joy. ๐ธ๐

Motherโs Day is a quiet reminder of the kind of love that shows up every day โ patient, steady, and often unnoticed.
In Buddhist practice, Arya Tara represents that same kind of care โ a compassion that listens, protects, and responds when itโs needed most.
Like a mother who cares without expecting anything in return, Arya Taraโs compassion is swift, fearless, and unconditional.
Today, we express our gratitude:
๐ธ To our mothers in this life
๐ธ To all motherly figures who have nurtured and guided us
๐ธ And to the compassionate presence of Arya Tara, who leads us on the path of wisdom
May all mothers be blessed with peace, good health, and joy.
May all beings be free from suffering.
Happy Motherโs Day.

๐ Welcoming the New Year with Mindfulness and Compassion ๐
As the year begins, we pause for a moment โ to breathe, to arrive, and to give thanks for this community we share.
The past year brought its ups and downs, its lessons and quiet moments of growth. We carry them gently as we step forward, continuing our practice one day at a time.
As we step into the days ahead, may we walk gently โ with more patience, more kindness, and a little more awareness in how we speak, act, and relate to one another. May we remember to return to the present moment, again and again, especially when life feels uncertain.
With the gentle guidance of Arya Tara, may we find calm, courage, and compassion along the way.
Wishing everyone a peaceful and meaningful year ahead.
๐ธ Happy New Year ๐ธ

๐ผ Happy Lhabab Dรผchen! ๐ผ
Lhabab Dรผchen commemorates the Buddhaโs return to the human realm after giving teachings to his mother for three months in the Heaven of the Thirty-Three.
On this auspicious day, our thoughts turn to compassion, gratitude, and the wish to bring benefit to others โ in big or small ways.
As one of the four great Buddhist festivals, all positive actions done today are multiplied one hundred million times.
May our prayers, generosity, and practice today bring peace and benefit to all beings. ๐

Earlier this month, Tara Buddhist Centre donated 150 bags of daily necessities to two Social Service Offices. These will go to seniors and families with young children in our community. ๐
Weโre grateful for the chance to share a little care and kindness with others. May these offerings bring comfort and warmth to those who receive them. ๐
