Good writing does not happen instantly. It takes time. Feedback plays a vital role in helping our students improve their writing skills.

This student had the main ideas in her first draft, but it lacked details, emotions, and suspense.

Through guided feedback and redrafting, she transformed her plain composition into a much stronger piece.

Drafting is an important part of our writing framework. In our writing classes, we aim to teach students how to:

* think deeper
* elaborate clearly
* add details
* use effective writing techniques

By going through the writing process of brainstorming, planning, drafting, editing and redrafting, students grow in their writing abilities and thinking.

Many students struggle with composition writing because they do not know writing techniques for narrative writing, which is the main genre for Primary School English composition.

As a result, they repeat simple words, or do not know how to express their ideas effectively.

During the workshop, your child will have a chance to plan and write a full composition, which will be reviewed and marked by our writing coaches. A detailed feedback will be given for your child to write a second draft.

Writing can be fun!

These poems were written by our P2 students during a creative writing workshop, inspired by Dr. Seuss' book "My Many Coloured Days".

After learning what similes are, they created these poems, using similes to compare colours with feelings.

We love these simple poems that give us a glimpse into the world of our children.
