We are proud of our Palm View Primary School Choir!

We have worked hard together and we are so proud of our students! Well done!

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Jerry Kerlin.

Dr. Kerlin was a distinguished Kodály educator and a longstanding pillar of the international Kodály community. As the founding director of the Kodály Summer Institute at New York University, he shaped generations of musicians and educators, extending the reach of Kodály philosophy across borders.

A valued friend and collaborator of the Kodály Academy of Music (Singapore), Dr. Kerlin generously shared his expertise as a guest speaker at the 2022 Asia Kodály Symposium and supported our work through years of partnership and exchange.

He will be remembered for his intellectual rigour, his deep musical insight, and his unwavering passion for music education.

His passing is a significant loss to the global Kodály community.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family, colleagues, and students.

Our school choirs had an enriching and memorable week of masterclasses led by Ms Susanna Saw. Her dynamic and engaging teaching style created a lively learning environment where students felt encouraged to explore and express themselves through singing.

Throughout the sessions, Ms Susanna emphasized expressive singing, guiding students to connect more deeply with the music. She introduced a variety of interactive activities, including singing games, canons, and solfege exercises, which helped to build both musical skills and confidence.💪

In addition, students learned how body movement and gestures can enhance vocal production and bring greater depth to their sound. These holistic approaches made the sessions both educational and enjoyable, leaving a lasting impact on the choirs. 👍

Happy New Year from Kodály Academy of Music & Schola Cantorum Singapore ❤️✨

One week ago, Schola Cantorum Singapore had the privilege to perform together with wind band Ventus under the baton of maestro Adrian Chiang at Victoria Concert Hall.

We are immensely thankful to Ventus for this invitation to perform with them. Our singers had such fun with the repertoire! The choir also premiered Song on the Winds, composed and conducted by our Director Albert Tay.

We’re grateful to Director Reuben Lai and Chorus Mistress Wynne Lee for their direction and guidance.
