What a joyous celebration as we ring in the Lunar New Year! Staff and students of Bowen Secondary immersed themselves in the festivities, enjoying lively quizzes, captivating performances and a spirited singalong to popular CNY tunes. The much-anticipated lion dance was certainly a highlight as well, bringing much excitement and energy to all of us.

On 12 February 2026, our students stepped into a food disruption simulation as part of Total Defence Day and Exercise SG Ready 2026.

For one morning, the canteen served a simplified meal of sweet potato porridge with a side dish — a small but powerful reminder of how easily our food supply can be disrupted by climate change, geopolitical tensions, protectionism, or even cyber-attacks.

Beyond the meal itself, students explored a deeper question: How connected are our food systems to digital infrastructure? From supply chain tracking to payment systems, they discovered how food security and Digital Defence are closely intertwined.

Through this experience and guided CCE discussions, our students reflected on adaptability, resilience, and the role each of us plays in safeguarding Singapore’s future.

Energised by the sun, our students gave it their all at our annual Sports Day.

🎉 CCA Experience @ Bowen 🎉
Our Sec 1 students got a taste of school life beyond the classroom through our CCA Experience sessions!

From sports to performing arts, uniformed groups to clubs and societies, students explored the wide variety of CCAs available. Each CCA set up interactive booths, giving everyone a chance to try out activities, meet passionate seniors, and discover new interests.

On 26 January, we warmly welcomed 27 students and 3 staff from Yi-Shiue Junior High School, Taiwan as part of our School Twinning and Exchange Programme!
From the Welcome Ceremony to fun ice-breaker activities, our Yi Shiue friends quickly bonded with their Bowenian buddies. Over the next few days, they will experience life as a Singapore secondary school student through lesson sit-ins, an VIA service-learning session at MINDS, an in-house upcycling Arts workshop, and neighbourhood explorations for an authentic local experience.
Through these meaningful exchanges, students broaden their cultural perspectives and build friendships that go beyond borders 🌏💙

Our Secondary 4/5 students received their O-Level results today, filling the air with excitement and anticipation. Congratulations to all Bowenians! May you continue to shine the Bowenian light as you embark on your post-secondary journey. Many thanks to the parents, teachers, and all who have contributed to the learning journey of our deserving Bowenians!

Over the past three days, our Secondary 3 students enjoyed learning new skills while bonding with one another in their new classes. Working in groups, they tackled challenges at Gardens by the Bay, built balloon-powered cars, and put their teamwork to the test with dominos. We hope everyone had a great time during our Sec 3 FIESTA! See you back in school on Monday!

Our Sec 4/5 students kicked off the year with the FIESTA Programme, packed with meaningful experiences to prepare them for the road ahead 🌟

One group of students learned effective self-revision skills and discovered their strengths through StrengthsFinder. They also had an enriching visit to Nanyang Polytechnic where they explored the wide range of post-secondary pathways 🎓

Another group of students also got a taste of hands-on learning through the Aforte Programme, experiencing different courses and gaining valuable insights into future possibilities 🔍✨

A purposeful start to the year — building confidence, clarity, and direction. Let’s keep the momentum going, Sec 4/5! 💪🚀
