Imagine sipping tea and munching on laopo bing peanuts and roasted melon seeds while watching live Chinese music and traditional puppet show like the old days in Singapore of watching opera on the open fields or streets. It wasn't just one type of tea but several types of tea throughout the show. Our senses were stimulated.
I bought VIP tickets to Paper Monkey's production of A Legacy Steeped in Tea for my mom and dad, both 80+. Excellent storyline in mainly Hokkien but clear subtitles and expressive puppets. Indeed expressive because of the voice and the gestures from the tiniest movement of the puppet hands conveyed feelings and emotions clearly.
I certainly hope that more people could see this show or even seniors in the neighbourhood could attend this. Different scenes in the show definitely bring memorable moments.

Thanks to Eric and Neil from Ruanatworkz for the opportunity to present an excerpt of Moving Mountains at the PassionArts Networking Evening on November 6.
We were delighted to share our creative production—a story brought to life through the expressive sounds of the Chinese zhongruan, accompanied by stunning visuals.
Neil’s superb musicianship elevates the entire experience; his breathtaking music opens the imagination and deepens emotional connection. Through storytelling, audiences were invited to co-create the world with us and to mirror the feelings of joy, sadness, love, pain, and grief within the narrative.
Eric’s interactive exhibition panels also offered a meaningful way for those who missed the live show to engage with the story—inviting reflection, discovery, and a chance to experience Moving Mountains in their own time.
